To give the PRS Paul's Guitar a rich, yet balanced sound, PRS began by choosing the tried-and-true combination of mahogany topped with figured maple. The mahogany body offers natural tonal warmth, which is offset perfectly by the brighter tone of its maple 10-Top. Custom-wound TCI pickups and switching provide endless tone
Paul's Guitar features a pair of amazing TCI (Tuned Capacitance and Inductance) pickups. The hot bridge pickup is perfect for deploying out leads infused with fat, snarling tone; back off your volume control and it cleans up beautifully. Switch to the neck pickup and hear every note articulated in a chord, even under heavy distortion. The pickups also have dedicated mini switches, so you can elicit spanky single-coil tones from this guitar instantly — and use them in any combination. Best of all, there is no volume loss when switching to single-coil mode.
