S.E. Shires is a beloved instrument manufacturer based in Massachusetts that are particularly desired in Trombone and other low brass instrument communities.
A huge draw to the Shires line is their modularity. Shires is phenomenal in offering interchangeable alternatives to every part of a trombone, from bell, to valve section, tuning slide, and handslide. This offers the player endless variety to their horn setup, and the ability to upgrade their instrument without having to spend full price on a whole new instrument.

This handslide is one such Shires part. The T47 features yellow brass slides forming a .547 (large) bore with a nickel-silver crook. This comes together to create a handslide which offers a centered sound and feel, perfect for a trombonist looking for a slide that will offer a balanced and even playing experience.
