Drum Circle
with Teajai Travis
Please join us for an interactive, educational clinic where we will gather in a circle to play percussion instruments together. The clinic is designed to foster community, creativity, and rhythm, offering both beginners and experienced musicians a chance to explore the therapeutic and joyful benefits of group drumming. You will be guided through various drumming techniques, rhythms, and exercises that encourage active listening, collaboration, and personal expression. Drums will be available at the store for this event.
Teajai Travis is a multi-hyphenated Windsor-based artist, educator, and public speaker with a focus on experimental storytelling and hand drumming. For two-decades, Teajai has enjoyed the privilege of facilitating drum circles and creative workshops for people of all ages and abilities. His work appears in several documentaries and publications, but his most important work happens in the classrooms, where he has the gift of introducing drums, poetry, and storytelling, to children for the very first time. In 2022, Teajai was appointed the inaugural Multicultural Community Storyteller, and in 2023, he launched the storytelling series “A Blaze of Story”. Now that the series is in its third season, he is excited to announce the Blaze of Story Tour and Festival, coming to the Windsor Essex region this summer, and as always, there will be drums!
