The development of the German gong-making tradition will be explored as will a look at different Chinese gongs. There will also be information presented involving the use of singing bowls and other sound therapy instruments.         

 

Rob Gretsinger has been a percussion specialist with Long & McQuade for 23 years. He has been using gongs in various situations since 1989. His extensive collection of over 50 gongs includes some Paiste Symphonic, Planet, Bronze, and Sound Creation gongs.

Tube Amps - What to Believe, What NOT to Believe 
With Jon Treichel & Brett Nussbaum                

Learn basic ideas about tubes, speakers, wires and electrons and how they all work together to make your guitar sing.

 

Jon Treichel is a long-time L&M employee who has spent many years touring and performing throughout BC and Western Canada. Jon has owned and played many vintage amp models during his career and has managed to put together a decent collection.

 

Brett Nussbaum has 36 years of experience as a professional bassist and guitar tech. He spent the better part of 2 decades as a touring and studio bassist, for bands such as Wolfborne, and Inside It Failed. Brett has had a serious love for tube amps, especially those made in Canada, since he bought his first Traynor YBA-3 Custom Special at the age of 16. That purchase launched a lifelong infatuation with tube amplifiers, amp design, and maintenance.
