Using real world examples, discover how speaker type and placement, room size and shape, and acoustical treatments can impact the sound of your studio. Most importantly, learn how to measure and interpret data such as in-room speaker response, room decay, and time alignment of speakers, and use that data to make your studio sound its best!

 

Mark Doucette is a musician and producer from Gravenhurst. He has released two full length albums, blending elements of electronic and alternative music.

Interested in learning to improvise and create fresh new ideas? Join us for this introduction onto the fundamentals of improvisation. Learn how to:

- Create tension and release in solos

- Expand your colour pallete for chords and solos

- Read and write simple charts

 - Improvise freely over a variety of chord progressions

 

Sean McQuilter is a performer and music teacher from Bracebridge, with a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Algoma University. During his studies, Sean focused on music theory, world music, classical and jazz guitar, and bass guitar. Sean has put on a number of solo and ensemble performances during his studies in Sault Ste. Marie, and continues to pursue a career in music through education and performance.
