Blues Guitar: History and Techniques    
with John McKinley                    

John will be performing and demonstrating his understanding of Blues guitar and techniques, as well as covering the history of how Blues is the foundation of so much of the music we enjoy today. This session will be informative and entertaining for Blues enthusiasts & musicians alike!

Hailing from Roswell, New Mexico, John McKinley has made a great impact in his adopted homeland of Canada. Having toured & performed for many years in the southern USA, he brings with him a personal knowledge and philosophy of Blues Music. John has been awarded the prestigious Mel Brown Award honouring his dedication to mentoring young musicians and his contribution to the local music scene. For over 10 years, John has presented this genre of music to over 60,000 local students through the TD Kitchener Blues Festival & Grand River Blues Society’s “Blues in the Schools” program.
