Improvisation for Keyboards
with MJ Idzerda
- reconnecting with music through extemporary expression using a 'child's mind' approach to opening up creativity
- re-approaching your music through improvisation
- techniques to break out of a creative rut
After taking piano lessons in his formative years, MJ gravitated to electronic music after hearing Tomita’s ""Snowflakes are Dancing"". Starting Electronic Music Endeavors Studio in 1987, he evolved his understanding of music and what it means to connect with electronic keyboard instruments. After a career in the pipe-organ and piano industries, he became an improvisational music artist and continues to explore the world of musical connection without the use of computers.
MJ is the Lessons Coordinator and resident "keyboard guy" at Long & McQuade London South.
