Learn the basics of what you need to capture your music using your computer! From hardware to software, learn what components are necessary and how to set up your new gear to begin recording in minutes.
With over 30 years of studio and recording experience, Ray spends much of his free time educating others in the art of audio engineering. By day he is the Sales Manager of Yorkville Sound; by night he is the owner of Synergy Studio in Pickering, Ontario, working with local artists in the Toronto area. His resume includes voice over work (Scholastic Books, CanDo Children’s Books), band recordings (Savista, Drone Wolf, Mahogany Ridge, GWood Band) and solo artists (Martina Ortiz Luis, Dave Lawlor, Chantelle Hope, Josh Kvasnak) He is a drummer and vocalist with his current band, One Night Stand.

Live Sound 101
with Graham Caddel
In this session, Graham will cover sound system basics such as how to set up a small system, gain structure, wireless microphones, troubleshooting, and other useful knowledge for the casual or inexperienced sound person.
Over the last 30+ years, Graham has mixed over 10,000 shows all over the world with bands such as Captain Tractor and Adam Gregory. He has worked for 12 years at The Sidetrack Cafe, 15 years at the Edmonton Folk Festival, as well as 15 years at On The Rocks. From 2010 to 2022, Graham taught the Live Sound Reinforcement course at MacEwan University.
