Intro to Home Recording
with Paul MacRae
In this clinic, Paul will discuss:
1. Interfaces - What they are. How to get them working.
2. Mics - Types of mics and their uses. Mic placement for acoustic guitars - amps - pianos - drums - vocals - choirs.
3. DAWs and Plug-ins - Discussion on the various DAWs. What's a BUS? Compressors, EQs and reverb.
4. Recording and Mixing Basics - Basic mixing concepts. How to set up your "Home Studio Room" for tracking and mixing.
Paul has been an employee at Long and McQuade for 13 years and was an owner operator of a recording studio from 2004 to 2009.

Ukulele Clinic
with Peter Davison
In this clinic, Peter will be teaching an introduction to ukulele performance. No experience necessary! Topics include:
• how to hold a ukulele
• the fundamentals of strumming
• first few chords
• techniques to switch between chords
• simple songs to strum
Peter is a multi-instrumentalist who has been performing in bands and as a soloist since the late '80s. He teaches guitar, mandolin, harmonica and ukulele at the Bedford Long & McQuade.
