Colleen began her career at age 12, writing songs for CBC Films in Newfoundland and touring extensively with Grand Union out of Calgary before attending UVic, where she graduated with a BFA in Acting. Colleen continues acting, recording, songwriting, touring, and more. Her music has been featured in plays, documentaries and on radio stations across the US, Canada, Germany, Holland and the UK.

Basics of Tone 
with Colin McTaggart

In this workshop, we will discuss the basics of electric guitar tone - guitars, pickups, amps and overdrive pedals - and how they work together to help create your own signature tone!

Colin has been playing guitar since the age of 12 and has toured Canada with acts such as Mike Edel, and Sidney York. In the last decade, he has managed the careers of a diverse roster of artists including The Librarian, Luca Fogale, The Funk Hunters, and Buck 65. In 2017 he founded Amelia Recordings with Piers Henwood and Nick Blasko, and their label has seen over 200 million streams and 1 JUNO nomination. Colin is a tone junkie who loves talking about guitars in his spare time.

Demistifying the Music Industry
with Piers Henwood

In this session, Piers will explain the key foundations of the music industry, including the roles and responsibilities of the 6 pillars of an artist's team: the manager, agent, record label, publisher, entertainment lawyer, and business manager.

Recently awarded the Music Managers Forum ""Honour Roll” award, recognizing outstanding career achievement in artist management, Piers is a Grammy- and JUNO-nominated manager and musician. Since forming Amelia Artists in 2002, Piers has co-managed the careers of past and present clients including Bedouin Soundclash, Tegan and Sara, Luca Fogale, The Librarian, Buck 65, The Funk Hunters, as well as his own bands Astrocolor and Jets Overhead.

In collaboration with his artists and label partners, Piers' work has resulted in over 1.5 million albums sold in the pre-streaming era, hundreds of millions of track streams, seven Gold certifications, twelve JUNO Award nominations with four wins, and a diverse set of accomplishments with Tegan and Sara – a Grammy nomination, an Academy Awards nomination, a New York Times Best Seller, and a Governor General’s Performing Arts Award recognizing cultural contributions in Canada and abroad.
