How to Play Along with Nigel Maynard - St. Catharines, ON
Nigel “MaynStreet" Maynard gives us a guide to learning different styles of drumming, playing to tracks, understanding what to listen while playing, and drum set positioning. He will also speak about warm up exercises, and the concept of time versus pocket.
Nigel Maynard has been a drummer for over 20 years, originally being grounded in funk, gospel, and reggae. He studied at Humber College where he quickly found styles such as jazz, latin, rock, blues, and country. Playing and/or opening for the likes of Alvin Slaughter, Fred Hammond, Babie Mason, CeCe Winans, Hezekiah Walker, Martha Munizzi and others – Nigel has learned how to adapt himself to the differences that artists may have.
