Free Strings Clinic with Thomastik-Infeld Vienna - Winnipeg, MB
Thomastik-Infeld Vienna cordially invites players of the violin, viola, cello and double bass to a free string clinic.
Strings are an essential part of your “tools” as a musician and our goal is to help you better understand how they interact with your instrument. After a brief primer on the history, physical materials, and methods used to make bowed instrument strings, Wolfgang Weiss from Thomastik-Infeld Vienna will highlight:
- Slow motion videography of how strings vibrate and interact with a bow.
- Learning how strings can address commonproblems like whistling E strings and wolf tones.
- Helpful tips for improving the performance anddurability of strings on your instrument.
Following the presentation, we encourage you to bring your instruments, ask questions and share your experiences with the presenters about which strings will best suit your needs. Attendees will also receive a FREE set of strings!
Here’s what has been said about the String Clinics:
