Beginning Blues for Ukulele with Manitoba Hal

Who says you can’t play blues on a ukulele? Manitoba Hal wants to show you how. This blues tutorial is designed for beginning ukulele players and beginning blues players. You’ll play through the entire workshop and learn little tidbits of theory as it applies to the blues and the ukulele. Players only need to know the chords C, F, G7 and have a basic ability with strumming and changing chords.

Roots musician Jacob Moon will be in the store for a live performance! He shares strategies for being an effective live looper, and how students can unlock their own creativity using the BOSS RC 300. His performance will include originals and covers orchestrated with an inspired combination of effects and looping pedals. If you’ve ever wondered how looping can take your solo or band project to the next level, this clinic is for you.

Durham region based musician Chris Gauthier will show you some great tips on how to develop your skill as a songwriter. He will focus on arrangement and song structure, chord progressions, lyric writing and will discuss instrument choices and tonewoods.
