Care and Feeding of Brass and Woodwinds with Jason Giles

A great clinic for students, parents and teachers. This two hour session will address how to care for brass and woodwind instruments to keep them working properly. Jason will review the dos and don'ts for maintaining band instruments, and will answer any questions you may have regarding band instrument upkeep.

Electronic Music Clinic with Ryan Osborne

Join Ryan as he talks about:
• How MIDI works (what note, how long, how hard)
• Defining common synth terms like HPF, LPF, Cutoff, Resonance, Attack / Decay / Sustain / Release
• USB Interfaces: What's available; capabilities (Ins, Outs); MIDI; software
• Using MIDI knobs to control parameters in a DAW
• How to setup MIDI in major DAWs (Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, etc.)
And most importantly, we'll build an electronic song from start to finish!

Ethnomusicologist Christian Masotti will discuss the styles and play examples from key moments in the evolution of early blues. Doug will be addressing fundamentals such as guitar stringing, working with locking tremolo systems, string gauges, set-up and intonation.
