Blake will be covering a variety of different topics ranging from the evolution of the DJ, where it all began and where it's headed. He will discuss
• The differences between controllers, CDJs and turntables
• Various mixing techniques, with a brief look at FX on the Pioneer DJM-700 mixer along with beat manipulation using these FX
• The advantages to using Serato and the basic use of this software including keylock, using cues and loops, BPM counter, colour coded waveforms and internal mixing
• Scratching – with a demo of scratching on vinyl to show the accuracy and control of Serato NoiseMap technology
A live demo of these techniques will be shown, and attendees will have a chance to try the equipment and do some scratching at the end of the session.
