All Things Mandolin with Fred Redekop

Fred started his musical life as a piano player and played in a number of prominent local rock 'n' roll bands. While in his thirties, he stumbled onto the mandolin by chance and was immediately smitten. Since then he has performed with The Ain’t No Mountain Boys, The Keystone Bluegrass Quartet, as well as a guitar/mandolin duet with Alan Popowich, and  a bass and mandolin duo known as Big 'n' Dinky with bassist Jay Taylor. He has attended the Mandolin Symposium in Santa Cruz, California every year since it was founded in 2004. In that time he's been able to learn from, play with, and just hang out with every living mandolin hero he's ever heard, as well as discovering many new ones.  His desire is to share as much of what he's been fortunate enough to absorb over the years with anyone that has a keen desire for the mandolin.
