FREE Orchestral String Clinic - Various Locations

Strings are an essential part of your “tools” as a musician. Thomastik-Infeld's goal is to help you better understand how they interact with your instrument. After a brief primer on the history, physical materials, and methods used to make bowed instrument strings, Wolfgang Weiss and Robert Infeld from Thomastik-Infeld Vienna will highlight:

  • Slow motion videography of how strings vibrate and interact with a bow.
  • Learning how strings can address common problems like whistling E strings and wolf tones.
  • Helpful tips for improving the performance and durability of strings on your instrument.

Following the presentation, we encourage you to ask questions and share your experiences with the presenters about which strings will best suit your needs.

BONUS: all attendees will receive a free set of strings to try!
