Music students deserve to have a holistic program, one that develops all areas of musicianship, regardless of the school of choice.

Students need to sing, harmonize, improvise, read, listen, transpose and build technique to become fine performers. Repertoire requires solid technique and is dependent on good reading skills, as well as a strong aural component. Audio skills are quite dependent on hearing, exploring and comparing sounds - which is really improvisation and transposition. Sight and aural both require the development of a hearing eye and seeing ear, both of which are enhanced through vocalization, harmonization and improvisation. And finally writing or theory complete of everything.
