JINGLE CONTEST: Let the Voting Begin!

Thank you to everyone for your patience and understanding while we took this extra time to decide on the fairest, most effective method to collect votes and ultimately choose our jingle contest winners.

We heard from a number of people over the past week, who were concerned that the voting process, as was initially outlined, would prove to be more of a popularity contest than a talent search for the best jingle.  We took this point to heart, and are now pleased to present what we believe is an even-handed voting process that will focus more on quality than friend count.

On Monday, May 9, voting will start for our jingle contest in the following way:

When you enter the site to vote, you will be presented with 5 randomly chosen entries. Please listen to each entry, and, keeping in mind the criteria below, give the entry a Thumbs Up or Thumbs Down.

You may enter the site and vote for as many different songs as many times as you’d like. One vote per song per IP address.

When listening to and voting on the entries, please keep in mind the following criteria:

• Musicality
• Production quality
• Suitability as a jingle
• Appropriateness for the chosen genre

The last day of voting is June 5, 2011, at which point the top ten songs in each category will be sent to Long & McQuade’s panel for final selections. The final winners will be contacted and posted in July.
