Thomastik-Infeld Vienna cordially invites players of violin, viola, cello and double bass to a free string clinic.
Strings are an essential part of your tools as a musician, and our goal is to help you better understand how they interact with your instrument. After a brief primer on the history, physical materials and methods used to make bowed instrument strings, Wolfgang Weiss from Thomastik-Infeld Vienna will highlight:
- slow motion videography of how strings vibrate and interact with a bow
- how strings can address common problems like whistling E strings and wolf tones
- helpful tips for improving the performance and durability of strings on your instrument
Following the presentation, we encourage you to ask questions and share your experiences about which strings best suit your needs.
