Turtleboy Saxophonist Jon Lindhorst in Session - Toronto, ON

Long & McQuade is pleased to welcome Turtleboy's saxophonist, Jon Lindhorst, to our band department for a "talk and play" workshop.

This free clinic will cover everything from your first lesson to performing, and is sure to be entertaining for all. Don't forget to bring your sax!

Voted one of the top new jazz acts in Montreal by the Montreal Mirror, and praised for being singularly forward-looking, original and wholly free of cliche, Turtleboy is proud to announce the release of their debut self-titled album. Drawing from a multitude of influences, Turtleboy creates a unique blend of ambient jazz and progressive rock resulting in a unified group dynamic that utilizes group improvisation in tandem with strong original compositions.

Consisting of Ryan Butler on guitar, Jon Lindhorst on saxophone, and Adam Miller on drums, this “bassless” trio derives inspiration from a variety of sources, including such bands as The Paul Motian Trio, Jim Blackʼs Alas no Axis, The Bad Plus, and many notable indie-rock groups.

To register for this free clinic, please email us with your contact information.  Please note that this is not a seat reservation.  It gives us a means of contacting you should the date, time, or location of this clinic change.  Seating is on a first come first served basis.
