Music Monday Showcase and Concert - Vancouver, BC

The Coalition for Music Education in Canada is holding a Music Monday Showcase Concert – a signature event meant to capture the spirit of Music Monday across the nation. This year it’s going to be in Vancouver - and Long & McQuade is a proud sponsor. (The planning for next year’s Showcase Concert in Winnipeg is already underway.)

On Monday, May 3rd, Vancouver’s downtown core will be alive with music when the promenade of the Vancouver Art Gallery will be filled with over 500 music students and professional musicians on two stages. This two hour concert symbolizes the events taking place simultaneously in communities from coast to coast to coast. The Coalition will introduce the songwriter who will write next year’s Music Monday song! The winning schools for the Ticketmaster Canada Grants will also be announced at the concert.

EVENING CONCERT AT THE YALE HOTEL
The Music Monday festivities continue in the evening at the Yale Hotel, where Luke Doucet and friends will be performing. The evening will be hosted by Grant Lawrence of CBC Radio 3, portions of the concert will be recorded by CBC Radio 2 for "Canada Live" and proceeds from the concert will support the work of the Coalition for Music Education to protect and promote music in our schools.

Doors open at 6:30pm, and guests take the stage as follows:
