Horizons: The New Conservatory Series for Piano - Vancouver, BC

For a number of years, an evolution took place that produced this exciting series of piano books ranging from Preliminary to Grade Ten and consisting of two complete books for each grade. The first book contains a collection of carefully selected repertoire and the second contains studies, all technique, as well as extensive ear training specimens and various sight reading examples.

This is a great new series for the piano student and teacher and we are excited to show it off to you! Here are some of the important highlights that make this a must see presentation:

  • Repertoire that consists of traditional, unusual and local music at all levels and grades
  • Meet some of the composers from our own area and hear their great music – this will be an exciting opportunity to refresh your piano studio with new works
  • Enjoy the Technique volumes for their creative selection of studies, as well as the inclusion of all technical, ear training and sight reading components in one book
  • Recordings for all of the volumes, including the studies, which are available with or without the books, performed by 15 pianists, all of whom are local artists

In addition, you will be able to review the revised and entirely new BCCM Theory Syllabus, which was formally acknowledged and approved by UBC theory department. This syllabus is not only a statement of what requirements are, but also a great assistance to both teacher and student in the many examples provided.

The launch will feature a thorough look at the publications and their backgrounds, rationale and benefits presented by the creators of this new series. Guest speakers, performers and presenters will make this an event not to be missed. Special introductory prices will be offered on all items in this new library.
