Moncton Lesson Centre Instructor at the Olympics

Congratulations to one of our lesson centre instructors, Samantha Robichaud, who enjoyed a once-in-a-lifetime experience recently, performing at the opening ceremony of the Olympics!

With over 200 awards, Samantha Robichaud is classed as one of Canada’s best fiddlers. She has evolved a smooth, unique, personal sound on fiddle and in her classical playing. Samantha placed 2nd in the Teen Category (Elmos Reel) in the International Songwriting Competition 2004. Her fourth recording, Vivacious, received two East Coast Music Awards nominations in the Instrumental Artist & Roots/Traditional Categories, and she will soon be releasing her 5th album, A New Stage.

Samantha has performed on many prestigious stages including the Grand Ole Opry, Wild Horse Saloon in Nashville, the Calgary Stampede, Klondike Days in Edmonton, and Carnegie Hall in New York. She has taught at Mark O’Connor's fiddle camp in Nashville, and has studied and completed her Masters Certificate in Theory, Harmony and Ear training from Berkley College of Music.
 
She’s been teaching at the Moncton Music Education Centre since April 1, 2008.
