Concert and Masterclass with Steve Turre - Nanaimo, BC

The Vancouver Island University Jazz Studies Department presents jazz trombonist Steve Turre in concert on Monday, November 16, 2009 at 8pm. The concert will take place in the Malaspina Theatre on the VIU campus. Mr. Turre will be accompanied by VIU faculty members Bob Murphy on piano, Ken Lister on bass and Jesse Cahill on drums.

In addition to being in the orchestra on NBC's Saturday Night Live and a major jazz player in his own right, Mr. Turre's performance credits include playing with the likes of Art Blakey and Dizzy Gillespie.

On Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at 10:30am, Mr. Turre will also be conducting a FREE two-hour clinic and masterclass. This event is open to the public and takes place at the Malaspina Campus of Vancouver Island University, in Room 105 of Building 320.
