One of the world’s outstanding pedagogues, Peter has been head of flute studies at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England since 1993, and travels world-wide giving master classes, adjudicating flute competitions, and advising schools of music.  He has held principal flute positions in the Scottish National, Halle, and BBC Symphony Orchestras, culminating in 20 years as principal with the London Symphony Orchestra.  Other teaching appointments have included the Royal Scottish Academy and London’s Guildhall School, after which he was flute professor at Indiana University from 1987-1993.
