Aiden Russell has played drums for the fourteen years and has performed in many Saskatoon-based bands. He also studied piano for 10 years. Aiden currently studies under Nashville-based drummer Dango Cellan, who plays for Scott Stapp and Amber Pacific. He has earned a Fine Arts Degree from the University of Regina. Aiden is willing to work with any student at any level. As a teacher, Aiden hopes to show students the joys of drumming and creative experimentation.

Andon Schumack is a dedicated musician with a lifelong passion for guitar and proficiency in piano, drums, bass, pedal steel, and banjo. He has played with artists such as Taya Lebel and Josh Stumpf, and his love for music extends to teaching and sharing his skills. With three years of Music Education from the University of Regina and ongoing studies in audio engineering in Saskatoon, Andon is focused on honing his production abilities. His ultimate goal is to relocate to Nashville and make a significant impact in the music industry.

Brock Neilson has been playing drums since 2009 and teaching since 2018. He is an experienced teacher, performer and songwriter and has played drums for many different groups including Witherfire, Yeoman and November Down. His expertise on the drums extends to rock, funk, soul, rap, country, worship and many other styles of music. His intent as a teacher is to instill a love of music in students and help them to achieve their goals as musicians.

Brooklyn has two years of University experience in vocal performance, and has studied voice and piano for 20 years. Some of her highlights include being a six-time recipient of the Royal Conservatory of Music’s gold medal for voice, as well as participating in the Saskatoon and Saskatchewan music festivals for voice and piano, winning multiple awards and scholarships. She has been a six-time featured soloist with the Fireside Singers in Saskatoon. She teaches voice at any level, and piano, and is comfortable teaching any genre, as well as the RCM curriculum. She strives to create a safe, inclusive, and accessible space for her students to learn, grow, explore, and have fun in.

Chelsea is a music enthusiast who enjoys sharing her passion of music with others, and is very excited to join the team of teachers at the Long & McQuade Lesson Centre. Chelsea studies both Piano and Violin, recently obtaining her ATCL Teaching Diploma from Trinity College London, and is currently working on her Grade 10 Violin. Chelsea has received several awards in various music competitions, winning second place in the Gustin Piano Competition, Provincial gold medals in Violin, and has been involved in national music competitions as well. In her free time Chelsea enjoys math, musicals, J Pop, baking and concerts.

Cory has over 20 years of experience in drumming performance. He has played in country, punk, metal, rock and R&B bands and is also an experienced competitive drummer. He is an expert in drum theory, and teaches any style of drumming from Rock to Marching Band. He puts a good focus into music theory, but at the same encourages students to strive for creativity and passion in play.

Danial Nikbakht has been playing violin for over 20 years. He has a rich performing experience in various orchestras and music bands across the globe, from Iran, and Azerbaijan (2017) to Bulgaria (2018), and Germany (2023), and received several awards in many music competitions. With 12 years of experience in violin instruction and a Bachelor’s degree in music performance, he is deeply passionate for nurturing the musical talents of aspiring violinists.

Drew Osborne has been playing drums for over 10 years, and has been teaching since 2016. Starting out being influenced by bands such as Nirvana, Green Day, and Slipknot, his musical taste has since grown to incorporate a multitude of different genres and styles including, rock, punk, metal, country, rap, and more. As an experienced producer and performer, Drew believes in highlighting the importance of energy and passion behind the kit in both studio and live settings. He believes in finding new ways to keep fundamental
practice routines fun and fresh through continuous experimentation with genre, time signatures, rudiments, and more.
Drew’s main goal as a teacher is to help students find their unique sound on the drums, instill the importance of both learning by ear, and by theory, and to help expand student’s musical knowledge and taste. He is willing to take on any level and age of student, from beginner to advanced.

Emma Gillingham has been making music for over 15 years. With a background in classical voice, music theatre, piano and theory, Emma’s passion for music is evident in her musical pursuits. Emma has her Level 8 RCM in both voice and theory and is in the 2nd year of her Bachelor of Music for Vocal Performance degree. She has participated in music festivals for voice and speech arts, winning numerous awards at the provincial and national level. She has won several RCM Gold medals for voice and has performed as a soloist with the SSO. Her most recent musical journey brought her to Italy where she sung the role of Poppea in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea. Beyond performing, she loves conducting the Hague Youth Choir and teaching voice. Currently she teaches voice lessons at any age and genre, cultivating lessons to meet the needs and wants of students. Her teaching approach focuses on cultivating a love and appreciation for music, with the aim of empowering students to apply skills learned in lessons to all aspects of life. Outside of musical pursuits, Emma enjoys cooking, exploring psychology, and spending time with animals.

A graduate of Grant MacEwan in Edmonton, he covers all styles from rock, to jazz, to classical, to deathcore and everything in between. “From Chet Atkins, to Eddie Van Halen.” George has been teaching privately for over twenty years and loves to share his knowledge of these wonderful instruments.

Han Gong is an RCM certified music teacher and Saskatoon registered piano teacher. She has 18 years of piano performance experience and 6 years of piano teaching experience.
After finishing her Bachelor of Music Education in Guangzhou University (China), she continues to study for her Masters degree in Arts - Piano Performance at the University of Saskatchewan. During her graduate program, she has won many scholarships. In her spare time, she also enjoys performing on her own as well accompanying the ballet class and choir for Dance School and High School.

jana janovsky (Violin, Fiddle)

Jana has well over 30 years of performing experience spanning throughout Europe and Canada. She has been playing violin for over 18 years performing classical to popular music. Her studies have been split from the Czech Republic to studying with Michael Swan in Canada. Currently, she is a member of the Saskatoon Philharmonic Orchestra and also plays for many functions in Saskatoon. Aside from her experience as a violinist, she has a great range performing as a singer and bassist in the band Hipcheck that works all over Saskatchewan. She is able to enhance anyone’s musical experience by teaching systematically through conventional methods (RCM) and also by ear. Jana is able to emote her great sensitivity and joy of music.

keith mcconnell (Pedal Steel)

Keith has been playing Pedal Steel Guitar for 30 years; he studied pedal steel at Jeffran College in Nashville, Tenn. and also in Phoenix, Arizona where he attended a Masters class at Jeffran Collage. He has attended Scotty’s Steel Guitar Convention in ST Louis. Mo. where there were over 70 professional steel players performing and sharing ideas. Keith has attended many seminars of players with different playing styles such as Joe Wright, Jeff Newman, Doug Jernigan, Buddy Emmons, Harold Leach, and Jeff Bradshaw. He has performed many hours on the bandstand backing up singers and playing classic country music, and has been teaching private lessons in Sask. and Alberta for the last few years.
Pedal Steel guitar is a unique and beautiful sounding instrument and will bring lifelong pleasure to anyone who plays it. Keith loves to share what he knows with others so he can keep this instrument and style of playing alive and well. For entry-level players, the focus will be on basic techniques to get them started with good playing habits. They will also be playing some real licks and actual music right from the start so their experience with the pedal steel is interesting and fun. Intermediate players will learn how to improvise and play in different keys and styles, so they can sit in with anyone and be able to play with any song without having it memorized. At this point you will start to hear your own style develop.

Liam is a versatile guitarist of seven years who has a passion for igniting the love of music within each student he teaches. Folk, rock, pop and electronic are just a few of the many genres in which he holds extensive knowledge. Liam hopes to share his knowledge, abilities, and excitement with all of his students.

Samuel Boyd has been involved in music since a very young age. He is currently working on a Bachelor of Music in Music Education at the University of Saskatchewan, majoring on the trumpet. He enjoys sharing his musical knowledge, and hopes to help students grow as brass, piano, and guitar players.

Sarah is a talented multi-instrumentalist and recent graduate of the Music Education Program at the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in in classical guitar with a minor in clarinet.
Sarah's musical journey began when she joined school band in grade five. Throughout her high school education she also learned how to play the guitar and joined jazz band, pit band, marching band, rock band, choir, and vocal jazz ensemble. Throughout university, Sarah was a member of the university choir and concert band.
Sarah is currently a substitute teacher specializing in band and music for both elementary and high school divisions. She is passionate about sharing her love for music and is dedicated to inspiring and educating her students.

weikang xiang (Piano)

Weikang Xiang has his grade 10 Royal Conservatory in Piano and Theory. He looks forward to sharing his methods with students, and assisting them to play more freely and confidently. University of Saskatchewan professor Katheleen Solose describes Weikang as having virtuoso techniques and ability. He enjoys teaching all ages of students, beginners to advanced. Weikang is comfortable teaching all genres of music and enjoys helping students explore their interests.
