Abby Stewart is a 22-year-old singer/songwriter from Kingston, Ontario. She is a graduate of the St Lawrence College Music Theatre performance program and is currently continuing to get her BMT degree at Queens University. She has been singing and performing since she was 8 years old. She has her original music on all streaming services and has many music videos on her YouTube channel. She has opened and/or performed with many talents such as Dan + Shay, Hunter Hayes, Brett Kissel, Jess Moskaluke, Dallas Smith, Tim Hicks, and more.

Ari is a classically-trained pianist, self-taught singer, multi-instrumentalist and songwriter with over 15 years of experience in many competitive, creative, & educational contexts. Between Ari’s involvement in the youth jazz scene and her classical piano training through RCM (Grade 9), she developed a strong passion for the world of music. While at Queen’s, she decided to pursue her interests in anatomy & the life sciences but continued to do casual freelance piano lessons and explored the collegiate a cappella scene. Between 2014 and 2018, she fulfilled positions of music director and business director for the pop/folk/R&B-inspired ensemble Trillers A Cappella and remained a member until graduating in 2020. During the past few years, her focus was to tap into a unique sound and buckle down to work on writing and producing her debut album, released in April 2023. Now looking to return to the teaching side of music, Ari hopes to use her versatile background in anatomy, music theory, education, and performance to help young pianists and singers meet their goals and have fun getting there. Her intent for future piano students is to help them develop fundamental tools every pianist needs: rhythm, reading music, understanding music theory, and developing a strong technical basis. Her intent with future voice students is similar, with the addition of helping them find their unique sound and exploring their creativity while maintaining a healthy, sustainable, and anatomically-informed singing technique.

Brittany has years of experience writing, performing and recording music with numerous bands across a wide range of genres. She has been teaching voice, guitar and songwriting since 2011 and recently added ukulele to her teaching repertoire. Brittany's relaxed voice teaching style blends classical and modern techniques with encouragement and positivity to bring out the best in her students. She works with guitar and uke students on chording, rhythm and accompaniment.

Carl studied classical piano as well as jazz theory and composition with Ted Moses, Gordon Delamont and Darwin Aitkin. He has composed and produced for CTV, TSN, Discovery Channel and ET. Carl is the Co-founder and CEO of HGNO, a non-profit, music-based community outreach. He has taught music both at the college level and junior high level - grade 6, 7 and 8 band. Carl is an enthusiastic and dedicated music teacher with years of professional experience and has a knack for inspiring students in the gift of music.

Darcie (BAH, BMT) is a highly accomplished musician and performer who began teaching in 2015. Since then, she has developed a robust teaching method that caters to the unique needs and aspirations of each student. Darcie's approach to teaching emphasizes providing a well-rounded musical education encompassing multiple genres. Furthermore, she places great importance on music theory, sight reading, and ear training, understanding that these elements form the foundation for musical growth and proficiency. David has been teaching individual and group classes at our location for well over 10 years. His dual diploma education, extensive experience in live and studio band performance and his multi-instrumental approach to instruction led him to establish the Rock Skool summer camps in 2005 and the 10-month Rock Skool program in 2010. David inspires his students to put their musical aspirations into action by providing a fun and invested mentorship tailored to each student's individual goals.

Doug was a road band keyboardist in the days of his youth and later a restaurant pianist for the sake of his ears. He has been teaching piano in Kingston since 1998 and along the way picked up a Bachelor of Music from Queen's University. He enjoys playing and teaching in a broad range of styles including classical, jazz, pop, ragtime and anything in between, and has a knack for making lessons fun and easy for new students of all ages. He also composes in light classical and movie theme veins as well as the odd song. While studying for his music degree he was awarded the Maurice Dublin Memorial Prize in Composition. Doug's performance credits include a stint with five-time Juno Award winner Skip Prokop.

Hailiah is a vocal/piano teacher. Her teaching styles include jazz, classical, rock and pop. She is flexible to her students needs and tailors her lesson plans accordingly. Hailiah has her RCM grade 8 in piano and graduated from St Lawrence College from the Music and Digital Media program. Her background most recently includes directing SONG choir, Burnham Public School Choir and group lessons at Northumberland Montessori School as well as private lessons through Cobourg Long and McQuade. She has been a performing musician in Ontario for the past ten years at such venues as Queens Frosh, Kingston Blues Fest, Harvest Festival, and many more. She has opened for various artists such as Walk Off The Earth, Mother Mother, Lights and other artists. Since relocating to Kingston, Hailiah has been performing locally and is currently writing/recording a solo album of original music.

Helena is a versatile instrumentalist who has over a decade of experience studying saxophone, clarinet, flute, and trumpet. Her varied musical experiences, ranging from traditional jazz and classical, to collaborating on electronic music and indie rock groups, give her a strong understanding of how to develop strong fundamental technique in order to meet your individual aspirations as a musician. Helena has been a passionate arts educator since 2016, teaching in private and classroom settings. Ivan attended Vladimir Dordevic Primary School of Music and the Borislav Stankovic Secondary School of Music in his native Belgrade. As a young adult, he moved to Kitchener, Ontario where he continued to study violin under the tutelage of Eduard Minevich, concertmaster of the Kitchener-Waterloo Symphony Orchestra. In addition to ongoing musical studies, Ivan completed a Masters of Arts Degree in History from Queen’s University in 2001. Ivan has been teaching at our location since 2009.

Jake has more than 18 years experience as a drummer / percussionist and 10 as an educator of music. He has a diverse background of musical experience, having played in orchestras, jazz bands, percussion ensembles, funk & soul groups, and much more. He holds a Bachelor of Music, with a specialization in percussion performance from Queen’s University, and is currently obtaining his Bachelor of Education.
With knowledge of the diverse ways students learn, Jake is adept at teaching students with dyslexia, ADHA, and ASD.

Jeremy graduated Humber College’s Music program in 2002, where he studied under such artists as Mike Downes (Juno Award Winner), Rik Emmett (Triumph), and Lenny Boyd, to name a few. Since then, Jeremy has built a robust portfolio that includes 20 years of teaching music lessons, 100s of gigs in the local music scene, performing on 200+ full length studio albums, performing 1000 concerts while touring 25+ countries. Jeremy also has his own recording studio where he composes music for television, cartoons, and YouTube, as well as records with locals and international artists. Jeremy plays all genres of music. His approach to teaching combines fun, flexibility, skill building, and theory, ensuring a well-rounded and customized learning experience for each student.

Karine is a classical musician, who started studying music from a very young age. She started learning the piano at five years old and is still taking advanced lessons to date. As a flutist, she has been learning flute since she was twelve years old and currently majoring in flute in the Queen’s University’s Bachelor of Music program. She has attended various competitions since she started learning music as both a pianist and a flutist. Most recently, she competed in the 2024 Ontario Music Festivals Association (OMFA) and won second place in the final round of the Woodwind Open Category.

Massimo has been studying cello for over 11 years, beginning at age 8. He has performed and competed with string orchestras, symphony orchestras, chamber groups, and as a solo artist. Matt studied audio engineering at the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology and has been the owner of Longshot Records recording studio since 1997. As recording engineer/producer he has worked with many local and international artists in a wide variety of styles to produce albums, videos, and voice-overs for film. He also appears regularly as a guitarist for a variety of artists, performing at local and international venues. Matt has been teaching both electric and acoustic guitar for over 15 years, specializing in pop, rock, country and folk music.

Narakorn is a classical pianist who has been studying music from a very young age. She has been playing piano for 17 years, passed the grade 8 ABRSM practical piano exam with distinction in 2017, and is currently completing the Bmus program at Queen’s University.
Narakorn specializes in teaching classical piano to all ages of students, preparing students for RCM in both practical and theory exams and can also teach anime music.

Patty is a Kingston singer, voice teacher and choral director (Frontenac Women’s Chorus, 2015-2020) who has performed locally with various ensembles and as a special guest for various choral and orchestral concerts since 1997. She has taught private voice lessons since 2003; taught Applied Voice in the MDM Program at St. Lawrence College (2012-2022), and comes armed with knowledge gleaned from a BMUS (Queen’s University, Voice, Distinction), a College Degree (Humber College, Jazz Vocal, Honours), a certification to teach voice at the highschool level (B.Ed, Queen’s University), many years of private lessons with voice teachers from Kingston to Toronto, plus ongoing research. Having studied and loved many genres, Patty typically performs a mix ranging from 16th-century madrigals and Traditional, to 20th Century art music and jazz/blues/musical standards, to Sting and Joni Mitchel, all in one concert.
Patty has put together a solid teaching foundation that emphasizes good breath support and healthy vocal technique with which to express the student’s unique voice in a free, well-placed, sonorous manner. This classically based technique is used for all genres to keep the voice healthy and supple, to improve range, vocal tone, flexibility and durability, and is based on anatomical knowledge of the mechanisms that support and produce the wonderful phenomenon of singing.

Rich has a B.Sc. in Civil Engineering and studied drums with Joe Morello and Andrew Cyrille, as well as Jim Blackley and Chuck Burrows. He has performed at the Toronto and Vancouver Jazz Festivals and is currently playing with the Swingmasters. Rich has been teaching music since 1981. He endorses strong fundamentals and developmental of good drumming habits, but also likes to help his students play songs they enjoy and encourages them to perform and participate in recitals.

Serhiy is from Chernivtsi in Ukraine. He studied at the Chernivtsi College of Arts and received a “diploma with distinction” as a Teacher of Piano, Music Theory (Solfeggio) and Music History. He was a trombone player in a military band for two years and played keyboards in various rock and pop bands. Serhiy started teaching music in 1985. After coming to Canada, he taught at the Saskatoon Academy of Music before relocating to Kingston and joining Renaissance Music (now Long & McQuade Kingston) in 2013. Serhiy shows a deep dedication to his students and wishes to help them achieve their musical goals, whether that's taking an RCM exam, preparing a piece for recitals, or simply learning a song they'd like to play.

Emerging from the 1960's rock 'n roll, R&B and jazz scene in London, Ontario, Tim's musical career has included shows with Roy Orbison and Ronnie Hawkins, performances at the Montreal International Jazz Festival and a gala performance for Ronald Reagan during a stint as musical director of the showband Explosion.For 15 years Tim augmented his performing career by teaching for two school boards and a community college in Hull, Quebec. During that time his Heritage College Big Band won a national award and were commissioned by members of Duke Ellington's family to perform some of Ellington's religious works. Currently Tim is performing and recording with various Eastern Ontario acts, teaching Saxophone Performance at St. Lawrence College here in Kingston, and joined our Lesson Centre in 2017.

Meet Violetta, a dedicated piano teacher with a deep passion for classical music and a knack for teaching popular tunes. With over 15 years of experience mastering the piano, Violetta began her musical journey at Mariupol College of Arts in Ukraine. Currently pursuing her Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance at Queen’s University, she plans to graduate in 2025.
While Violetta's heart lies in classical music, she understands the importance of catering to her students' interests.
