Cecilia has been teaching piano for 14 years and has her grade 8 piano and grade 1 theory with the Canadian National Conservatory of Music (CNCM). Her greatest achievement in music was being awarded the CNCM Silver Medal for receiving the highest mark in all of Canada on the grade 7 piano exam! She also enjoys strumming her guitar and singing. When she’s not in the music room, you can find her on her farm caring for her horses and goats!

Ask about songs you’d like to learn and Dave can show you how to work them out by ear, simplifying where necessary and developing exercises for difficulties. Play drums with guitar or vice versa for rhythm section experience. Dave began taking lessons in 1989, played in many backup bands in the Toronto area, and has been teaching since 2004.

jeff biggar (Guitar)

Jeff is a seasoned music educator as both a high school music teacher as well as private instructor. Holding degrees in classical guitar performance and music education from McGill University, Jeff also completed his Masters degree in Music Education at Western University in 2020.
Jeff's approach to lessons are student-centered and catered to the musical tastes and interests of each individual while emphasizing musicianship and developing student's ears to understand what they are hearing in their favourite music.
Outside of teaching, Jeff performs regularly as a soloist in the Northumberland and GTA area, and draws upon his extensive knowledge of popular music both in performance and teaching settings.

mary macfarlane (Piano)

Mary McFarlane is a talented pianist and organist who is returning to teaching after a fulfilling career in nursing. Over the years, Mary has remained an active member of the musical community in her roles as a performer, church organist, and choir director. She attended Western University for music, and holds a Grade 8 Certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Mary provides a well rounded approach to teaching, and welcomes students of all ages.

Meta is a gifted violinist with a passion for the arts. She offers violin and vocal lessons and specializes in bringing out the best in younger students. Meta has many years experience in teaching and performance and is a great addition to our music lesson team.

nicola joseph (Piano, Ukulele)

Nicola is a professional teacher loves to share her passion of music with her students.
She has trained in piano pedagogy with the Royal Conservatory of Music and has trained with the Nordoff Robins Music Therapy Centre in the UK. Nicola also studied music at McGill University.
She has Grade 8 honours piano, and completed her Level 1 Orff Certificate as well as attended many teacher seminars at the RCM.
For ukulele, Nicola has completed her Level 1 Ukulele Teacher's certificate with James Hill. She is experienced working with children and adults as a teacher and counsellor.

Troy is a born and raised Cobourgian who got his first drum set at fifteen years old. After making a stop at Mohawk College for three years (studying music of course), he has returned to share what he learned.Troy has been performing on acoustic/electric drums and hand percussion in various ensembles in Northumberland County ranging from rock, jazz, swing, country, and folk since 1996.
Troy was the Platinum Award winner for Best Music Instructor in the 2024 Northumberland News Readers' Choice Awards.
