Braden Varcoe is a graduate of the Mohawk College Applied Music program. He has been teaching guitar and theory to students of all ages and skill levels since 2013. Braden has been heavily involved with the theater community in Hamilton as well, including working in such capacities as Music Director for the original Broadway cast of Smokey Joe's Cafe at Hamilton Place. You can currently find him performing a variety of Blues and Soul music with The Braden Varcoe Band.

Buddy is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music. He has played with the Berklee & MIT Symphonic Orchestras, as a guest artist with Dizzy Gillespie, as well as many others. He has lead various jazz groups for 4 decades and produced 4 albums of his own. Buddy has prepared many students for acceptance into various music programs at universities and colleges.

Daniel studied Guitar at Wilfred Laurier University, and has been teaching in the Hamilton area since the mid 1990’s. Dylan helps students of all ages and skill levels play their favorite music on trumpet, including video game music, pop songs, and more, while building the foundation needed to succeed in school and beyond.

Ed’s lessons can include many styles with focus on musicianship, specializing in Jazz, Blues, RnB and Country. He uses looper pedals and iPad apps in the lesson, offering technical and composition feedback. Improvisation techniques and methods can also be explored and developed. As a Juno and Guitar Warz winning veteran performer of stage and studio, Ed has stories and anecdotes of his experiences sharing the stage with many music stars from the 1960’s/ 70’s and 80’s onward including Jimi Hendrix, Tom Jones, Tina Turner, and Michael Jackson.

Nancy Olfert is an accomplished musician and music educator. For over 40 years she has been teaching piano, theory, and voice as well as performing professionally as an accompanist, singer, and choral conductor. She holds an ARCT in piano performance, an RCM Grade 10 in voice, a Bachelor of Education with music qualifications for Primary, Junior, Intermediate, and Senior levels. Dr. Peter Landey is an associate professor of music theory, composition, and aesthetics at Brock University. Victor Agrippa is an alumni from Humber College, specializing in playing and teaching woodwind instruments (Saxophone, flute and clarinet). He has been playing and studying music for 12 years, under the tutelage of many seasoned professionals around the GTA. Throughout his musical career Victor has played a variety of styles of music in numerous bands. From being part of a symphony orchestra, a big band, various Brazilian ensembles and numerous smaller ensembles, the diversity in playing experience has only been a benefit to his teaching ability.

The Bumblebee Orchestra is an educational ensemble that provides instruction to string players

Garden City Orchestra rehearses weekly throughout the year. We have two big concerts a year. One in December and one in June. We go out to senior homes and we take part in music festivals. Garden City Orchestra began in 2015 and we have been growing ever since. We enjoy learning and performing pieces from all the great composers from the past and present.
We invite guest musicians to our performances to make it extra special.
Students should be reading at or above a Grade 3 Suzuki or RCM Level. Rehearsals are Thursday nights from 7-9 PM
Lakeside Wind Ensemble is a community brass and woodwind group that plays a variety of music, run by Lizuarte De Sousa. We accept flutes, clarinets, oboe, alto, tenor & baritone saxophones; trumpets, trombones, French horns, baritones, euphoniums, and tubas with at least 2+ years experience. The season runs from September through June. Rehearsals are Tuesday nights from 7-9 PM.
