Welcome L&M Moncton's Lesson Centre! We have two locations: one at the L&M Moncton store on 245 Carson Drive, and one at the Dieppe Arts & Culture Centre on 331 avenue Acadie, in Dieppe. We have 20 well equipped lesson studios between the two locations. If you have ever aspired to learn a musical instrument or you want to improve your skills and knowledge, this is the place for you! ekaterina burakova (Cello, Piano)

Ekaterina started playing the cello at the age of 8. She became an award winning cellist at the young age of 14 when her trio won second place at the international chamber competition “Concertino Praga”. Ekaterina began her teaching career a year later when she was 15. Ekaterina completed her Bachelor’s degree in performance and music education from Belarus Academy of Music and Sarajevo Academy of Music, and went on to complete her Master’s Degree in performance and music education from Belarus Academy of Music. She also holds a Teacher Certificate of Recognition from RCM. Along with teaching, Ekaterina has performed with many orchestra’s such as the Belarus Symphony Orchestra, National Concert Orchestra, Sarajevo Symphony, and others. Ekaterina has been living in New Brunswick since 2011 and has been teaching and performing in the Greater Moncton Area ever since. She has taught all ages and levels, and enjoys having her students participate in the Moncton Music Festival. Her rate is $25 per half-hour.

James has pursued an active career as teacher and collaborative pianist since arriving in Moncton in 2018. He holds a doctorate (D. Mus) in Piano Performance from the Université de Montréal; and studied under teachers Carol McWilliams, Janice Elliot-Denike, Kent McWilliams, Marc Durand, Maneli Pirzadeh and Jean Saulnier. He enjoys teaching students of all ages and is committed to helping students achieve personal goals at the piano as well as prepare for exams (RCM) and competitions. His rate is $24 per half-hour private class.
mélanie caissie (Piano, Voice)

Mélanie Caissie is a voice and piano teacher and performer with over 20 years in the industry. She received her Bachelor of Music in vocal performance at the University of Toronto and has her grade 9 RCM in piano. Mélanie has worked as a classical soloist for churches in Toronto and enjoyed being a freelance performing and recording vocalist in a variety of engagements. She has prepared many students in voice and piano for recitals, festival competitions, university auditions and professional gigs. She has a passion in sharing her love of music with her students. She teaches well-rounded lessons by incorporating performance technique, ear training, theory, improvisation, and musical games for the little ones. She teaches young artists how to maintain a healthy voice. Mélanie is comfortable teaching in French and English from 4-year-olds to adults. Her rate is $28 per half hour.

Naomi started playing music as a young child and has always been passionate about sharing the beauty of music through both performance and teaching. She has been an active performer across New Brunswick and Canada from an early age, winning awards such as National Music Festival Grand Award (2017) and the NYO Award of Excellence (2019-20). Naomi earned her Bachelor of Music focusing on flute performance from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia, and has performed and toured with ensembles such as NYO Canada, the Curtis Symphony Orchestra, and Symphony NB. She loves watching music transform people’s lives and helping others learn to express themselves through playing their instruments. Naomi's rate is $26 per half-hour lesson.
nhat-viet phi (dieppe) (Piano)

Nhat-Viet (Toto) Phi began playing solo piano at age six, and has enjoyed a long history of success in Canadian music festivals starting even before his national first prize at age eleven. In addition to headlining with several Canadian orchestras and chamber music with his brothers, he has been praised for his wide-ranging collaborative talents across the nation in vocal, choral, string, woodwind, brass and percussion disciplines. From 2007-2019, Toto was the official accompanist for the University of Moncton music department. Since 1990, Mr. Phi has enjoyed teaching piano privately for all ages and all levels including ARCT, in English and French.
His rate is $26 per half-hour lesson.
rebecca ann coghlin (dieppe & moncton) (Violin, Piano)

Rebecca began learning the piano at the age of 4 from her mother. She continued learning piano, taking lessons from her brother James, as well as Carol McWilliams, Nariaki Sugiura, and David McIntyre throughout high school and into University. She started learning the violin when she was 10 and considers this her natural instrument. She took violin lessons from Oxana Ossiptchuk, Audrey Sproule, Alejandro Drago, and Dr. Howard Leyton-Brown. She played both piano and violin in Saskatchewan local and provincial music festivals and worked on completing RCM exams in both instruments as well. Currently, she is completing a music therapy internship with UBMusic-que Therapy Services in Moncton and aims on becoming a Certified Music Therapist. She has adopted a therapeutic approach to teaching, and aims to create a safe space for her students while they are learning their instrument. She aims at making her lessons fun and engaging, and loves to get to know her students while they are developing their musical skills in either violin or piano. She has knowledge in classical music, but is open to developing her knowledge in other genres as well! Rebecca’s rate is $25 per half-hour lesson.
savana daigle (Piano)

Savana Daigle is currently a student at Université de Moncton in the Musical Education program. At the age of 7, Savana fell in love with music and she wishes to bring that same feeling to her students. Savana is very inclusive and adaptable to all learning styles; whether you want to play chords, classical or pop, she is eager to guide her students. She has experience teaching private lessons, group classes, baby and toddler classes, and with summer camps. Savana is bilingual in both French and English.
Her rate is $24 per half-hour lesson.

Serge earned his degree in classical saxophone performance from the Université of Moncton in 2007. Having taught students since his third year at the university, he has also been playing with various groups and tackling all styles, notably The Moncton Mingus Band, which specializes in jazz improvisation. He practices cabaret-style singing while accompanying himself on the piano. His rate is $26 per half-hour lesson.
valentin todorov (dieppe & moncton) (Clarinet, Flute, Piano, Conducting, Oboe)

Born and raised in Sofia, Bulgaria, Valentin started taking lessons at the young age of 4. Bulgaria is well known for excellence in musical education, and Valentin benefited greatly from some of Europe’s finest musicians. Valentin received a diploma from the “Académie Supérieure de Musique de Sofia.” Throughout his 40 years career, Valentin has taken part in many orchestras, including L’orchestre de l’Académie Supérieure de Musique de Sofia, Symphony Orchestra of Rome etc. He was a music professor at the National Academy of Music in Tunisia and the Conservatory of Tunisia. He is an excellent teacher with over 45 years experience teaching in all levels. Valentin's rate is $25 per half-hour private lesson.
Our Group Lessons:
Baby Beats is our group baby class for babies ages 6-24 months. Babies will be introduced to basic music concepts by playing and interacting with musical instruments; parents/guardians are expected to stay in the class with their child. The class is on Saturdays at 10:30am and is 45 minutes long. There will not be classes on October 12 or November 9 for the long weekends. Mini Maestros - Savana Daigle

Mini Maestros is our group toddler class for children ages 2-4 years old! This class introduces music concepts using a structured play-based approach; parents/guardians are expected to stay in the class with their child. Students will interact with music through listening, dancing, and playing instruments to develop basic musical skills. The class will be on Saturdays at 2pm and is 45 minutes long.
