Lorena Zuniga (Violin, Viola)

Lorena was born in Mexico City. At the age of 4 years old she was very interested in the key board lessons, but it wasn’t until the age of 6 that she started to play. At the age of 10, Lorena began studying music at the National Conservatory of Music in Mexico. She decided to start playing violin when she was 12 years old. Then, she did her Bachelors degree in Concert Violinist. She worked in Carlos Chavez Symphony Orchestra for 10 years. In 1999, she also was part of the Army Symphony Orchestra in Mexico City until 2010. She started giving violin lessons in 1999 at Do re mi, music academy, then in 2011-2017 at Green Gates School. In 2018 – 2020, she conducted the student orchestra of the “Tecnologico de Monterrey”.

Lorena is offering lessons at our Henderson location. Her rate is $28/half hour. Lessons are available in English and Spanish.

Paul Baek (Viola, Violin)

Paul Baek is a violinist and graduate from Western University. He began playing the violin at the age of four, taking a four year break from lessons along the way, and reigniting a passion for music at age fourteen after being introduced to the famous Mendelssohn Violin Concerto. Paul was a featured soloist with the London Youth Symphony, playing the Mozart Violin Concerto No. 3 in G Major, and was a finalist in the Don Wright Faculty of Music Concerto Competition. Paul holds a Masters Degree in Violin Performance and Literature from London, Ontario, having studied in the studio of Annette-Barbara Vogel. He has performed with several orchestras in Southern Ontario, including the Western University Symphony Orchestra, International Symphony Orchestra, and has also performed with members of the Tafelmusik Baroque Ensemble.

A passionate teacher as well, Paul began private teaching in 2021 and is continuing to develop his skills as a violin pedagogue. In addition to teaching beginner to advanced violin, Paul also teacher beginner to intermediate viola. Paul now resides in Winnipeg, Manitoba with his wife and two cats. His rate is $29.00 per half hour.
