If you are joining a band program next school year, or are switching instruments in band, this is the program for you! Spend your summer getting a head start on your instrument for the new school year. Join this group class to learn fundamental techniques on your new instrument, and set yourself up for success when you start band in the fall.

This class is for students ages 10-16.
Students must have their own instruments

Clarinet – Wednesdays from 4:30-5:30 with Jacob Herd, | July 2nd-August 20th
Saxophone (Alto and Tenor) – Wednesdays from 6:30-7:30 with Jacob Herd | July 2nd-August 20th
Trumpet and French Horn – Thursdays from 6:30-7:30 with McKenzie Walpole | July 3rd-August 28th

Songwriting Workshop - Adèle Wilding

If you love to write your own songs or are considering a career as a singer-songwriter, this class is for you! Students will learn about structure, groove based writing and writing catchy lyrics. The featured topic will be Adding Non - Diatonic Chords to Diatonic Melodies.

This class is recommended for anybody who wishes to tap into their inner composer, or anybody wishing to study Songwriting at the L & M Lessons Centre Henderson.

Format: One 4-hour session on Friday, July 11th, 1 - 5 PM. The total cost of this class is $80.

Guitar 101 - John Larsson

Have you ever wanted to learn the guitar? Now is your chance! This introductory Adult Guitar Class, led by John Larsson, will teach you the basics of rock and roll! Learn about chords, strumming patterns, lead guitar licks, and popular riffs with the Rock Shop Method book. No experience required! Electric or Acoustic guitars welcome! Available for Adults 18+! Register by June 30th.

Band Instrument Trials - McKenzie Walpole

Are you joining your school’s band program next year? Why not try out some instruments before the school year starts? This group class gives students the opportunity to try out a variety of band instruments that are found in middle and high school concert bands. Sessions last one hour each, and give students the chance to hear and play flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, trombone, and euphonium.

Instruments are provided!
This class is suitable for students aged 9-14.

Class dates are as follows:
