Aaron Brazeau is a versatile musician based in Vancouver who has been teaching Guitar, Piano and Voice lessons since 2016. Aaron completed his BMus in 2020 at VCC, where he studied guitar under Daryl Jahnke, piano under Sharon Minimoto, and voice in ensembles under Paula Kramer and Gerald Van Wyck. Aaron enjoys teaching and playing many different styles such as Pop, Rock, Jazz and more! Aaron's rate is $29 per half hour.

Alex is classically trained as a guitarist and holds a Diploma in Music from KPU. He is passionate about music and enjoys all genres from classical to heavy metal. He also plays in bands and jam groups. He teaches classic, acoustic, and electric guitar, electric bass and ukulele. Whether you are a beginner, want to upgrade your chops for your band or solo act, learn theory and technique, or play around the campfire, Alex will be happy to teach you the skills you need. He can’t wait to help you start living out your musical dream! His rate is $29 per half hour.

Allan’s love for music began in his elementary school band room where he started snare drum. Today he plays drum-kit as one of his primary instruments, along with a variety of percussion instruments. He has played in concert and jazz bands and enjoys many genres from rock to jazz. Allan is a UBC bachelor of music graduate. He started at Kwantlen Polytechnic University studying under Daniel Tones, and then transferred to the University of British Columbia studying under Vern Griffiths. Allan believes in developing a love for music in his students while having fun - whether it be grooving or chopping it out. He will provide his students with the tools needed to play music. His rate is $29 per half hour

Brigette has been teaching since 1993. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Trinity University with a strong focus in education. Brigette has a wide-range of experience in accompanying, performing, and teaching. She is experienced in preparing students for RCM exams at all levels. Her rate is $30 per half hour.

Cheryl’s passion for music began back in her middle school band program, where she got to learn & experience a variety of instruments and ensembles. She has also been involved in many community woodwind ensembles such as the Fraser Valley Winds Ensemble & the Greater Vancouver Youth Music Academy. Cheryl started her degree at Kwantlen Polytechnic University and graduated at the University of British Columbia, in Spring 2023. At both schools she studied saxophone under Julia Nolan. Her rate is $29 per half hour.

Chris has been playing guitar and performing in bands throughout Vancouver and the lower mainland since 1998. Currently teaching at several Long & McQuade lesson Centres, he has been guiding budding and advanced guitar players for over a decade. Chris specializes in rock, pop and heavy metal, and teaches composition on the guitar. He is also the facilitator for the Rock Skool program, uniting youth to create music together. His rate is $29 per half hour.

David Danylchuk has over 30 years of experience playing music, including a Diploma in Jazz Studies from St. Francis Xavier University, and years playing in various original music projects as well as being a sought-after live session musician. Dave’s most recent live project is performing as Tom Petty in the acclaimed tribute band Perfectly Petty, and has graced stages including Peachfest, The Blue Frog, The Mary Winspear Theatre, The Rio Theatre, and many more. Dave is an accomplished guitarist, bass player, drummer, keyboard player and vocalist, with a passion for music and for teaching, and for assisting others in achieving their musical aspirations. His rate is $30 per half hour.

An active member of many unique local bands, he has experience both locally and abroad. Eric has his Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from Capilano University. Gloria began playing piano at the age of 9 and continues to have a love of music to this day. She progressed through the Royal Conservatory of Music to grade 10 and took up saxophone and clarinet in middle and high school. She received a Bachelor's of Music from UBC in 2015 and has been teaching music since 2013. She currently enjoys teaching piano, saxophone and clarinet to all ages. Her rate is $29 per half hour.

Greg received his bachelors in Jazz Studies from Capilano University in 2022 and is an active member of the Vancouver music community. Greg has experience playing in small jazz combos, big bands and orchestral/contemporary classical settings. As an Educator, Greg focuses on building students' understanding of core concepts and fundamentals through classical technique, as well as building a breadth of knowledge in the jazz idiom. Greg is a multi-instrumentalist who teaches primarily trombone and trumpet, but is also well versed in Tuba, Baritone/Euphonium, and French Horn. Greg is also a vocal coach and teaches beginner/jazz guitar. Lessons are organized to adapt to individual students' learning styles as well as short/long-term goals. Greg works well with all skill levels from absolute beginner to professional players and hopes to help students build confidence and find joy in their craft.

Jacob is a singer and guitarist, composer and sound engineer. His current band Quickness keeps him busy, and he also does shows as a solo looping artist and owns a recording studio. He has a long list of sound engineering customers including Snoop Dogg and Carly Rae Jepsen. Jacob offers something new to the lesson Centre, with recording, looping and beatboxing in his toolbox of skills. Jacob takes students 6 years old and up and all ability levels. His rate is $29 per half hour.

James has a Bachelor of Music in piano performance from Capilano University and has been teaching piano since 2007. He has his Grade 10 Royal Conservatory of Music qualification and is knowledgeable in both teaching and performing jazz, classical, and rock. James has performed with Theatre Under the Stars in "Shrek The Musical” and is busy with his original project “Best Night Ever”. His rate is $29 per half hour.

Julia has a Bachelors Degree in Violin from Yonsei University in Korea and a Masters Degree from the American Conservatory of Music. She has performed in many different orchestras and ensembles as a member and a concertmaster. She has been teaching violin and piano for over 30 years and teaches students of all abilities and ages. Many of her students have competed at festivals with distinction. She is experienced in preparing students for RCM exams in both piano and violin at all levels. Julia is a welcoming teacher who enjoys seeing her students improve. She often finds herself sharing her love and passion for classical music with her students.

Jullin specializes in advanced piano and vocal training but enjoys helping students at any level achieve their goals. She has over 30 years experience in teaching and performance and worked in nearly every music genre. Vocal Performance studies began at Lakehead University, continued with Robert Turner of Portsmouth, Virginia then followed by lessons with Dr. Shirley Zielinski at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. She studied Jazz and Classical Piano and has a Diploma from Western Ontario Conservatory of Music in Piano Teaching. She is past Executive Director of the Richmond Music Festival; Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festivals and past GM of the Vancouver Youth Symphony Orchestra. Jullin's rate is $30/ half hour.

Kimberlee had her first piano lesson at the age of 5 with the RCM program and decided to pursue music teaching as a career. She has her ARCT performance certificate, and has been a member of the BCRMTA since 2000. She has been teaching for over 28 years and has been very successful preparing candidates for RCM practical and theory exams. She believes in catering lessons to the needs and goals of each individual student. Her rate is $30 per half hour.

Lance Chalmers is a professional drummer currently residing in the Canadian Music Hall of Fame as a former drummer for prolific rock band Trooper. Lance’s professional career spans 40 years including performing with two number one hit Canadian bands. “Initiate, motivate and celebrate,,” is Lance’s philosophy. Lance can usually have a student playing a drum beat after the first lesson. His rate is $29 per half hour.

Larry started playing guitar when he was 10 years old. He earned a music theory certificate from Trinity College of Music, London. He began touring at 17 and has been playing professionally ever since. He played bass with Canada’s legendary rock band Trooper for 6 years, earning gold and platinum records. He plays guitar, bass, and mandolin, and continues to perform in a variety of bands including classic rock, jazz, country and bluegrass. Larry has been teaching since 1992. His goal in teaching is to instill the necessary skills to inspire a lifelong love of music. Larry caters to teenagers and adult students. His rate is $29 per half hour.

Micah was born in a musical family. She began playing piano and violin at an early age. Throughout the years she has gained many musical experiences such as playing in orchestra, performing, and accompanying. Shortly after picking up his kid sister’s abandoned guitar at the age of 13, Paul began concentrating on drums. By 15, he was already teaching in a marching band, as well as at Berger Music in Richmond, England. Shortly after graduating high school, Paul became a full-time touring drummer, a career he pursued until he acquired the Milestone Percussion (now known as Tempus Drums) business in 1985. Between ‘85 and ‘13 he custom built almost 7500 unique drums; these days he’s more musically active than ever, teaching, writing, recording and performing music, as well as through his activities as a music advocate, music therapist and special needs EA with the North Vancouver school district. His rate is $29 per half hour.

Peter has a passion for drumming and has been teaching percussion and playing drums professionally since the 80s. His background, education and experience includes a variety of styles; ranging from pop music, rock, jazz, funk, world music, classical, and marching band. Peter began his formal musical education at the age of 10, studying with a number of local drum teachers; including Ken Moore and John Fisher. He also attended the VCC Music Program. He has been the dynamic drummer of the popular local band, Dr. Strangelove, since 1992. He also performs with many other local musicians and bands on a regular basis. The core essence of his teaching philosophy is to create an atmosphere of freedom and fun. Lessons range from beginner to advanced, and are tailored to each individual - taking into consideration age and level of experience. His rate is $29 per half hour.

Rich has a Bachelor of Music (Composition) degree from University Of Toronto and an Associate Diploma (ARCT) in piano performance from the Royal Conservatory of Toronto. He is also an accomplished guitarist, bassist, and vocalist, with over 15 years of experience onstage and in the studio. He plays a wide range of music including rock, pop, blues, folk, reggae, and electronic. His classical training combined with his years of stage and studio experience allow him to provide a balanced approach to music lessons and can prepare students interested in RCM. He addresses each student's needs individually with emphasis on ear training, improvisation, and fun. Rich's rate is $29 per half hour.

Selena is a classically trained cellist who has played in many local ensembles, orchestras and a variety of chamber groups. Sharon Fong has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Violin Performance from Trinity Western University. Over the years she has been part of many different chamber ensembles and orchestral groups. She has had the pleasure of premiering her fellow friends and classmates’ newly composed music with the New Music Ensemble at TWU and piano trios (Ignis and Trinity Western Trio). Sharon has experience competing in many festivals and performances in BC. She has also had the pleasure of playing as a soloist for TWU Orchestra and leading as concertmaster. Although Sharon has experience and a degree in performing, her passion lies in teaching. She loves working with children and enjoys watching her students grow. Her rate is $30 per half hour.

Alongside his formal music education, Thad's vibrant career in live music has left him with extensive and applicable knowledge of Jazz, Funk, R&B, Latin, Rock, and Classical music. In addition, he has taught trumpet, trombone, baritone, French horn, and tuba to numerous students over the years. In his teaching, Thad is passionate about imparting his knowledge and appreciation of music. More importantly, he always tailors his pedagogy to accommodate each and every students' needs and goals.
