Heidi Kelm is a piano teacher, performer, and amateur composer from Wetaskiwin, Alberta. She began piano lessons at the age of eight years old and fell in love with music, going on to achieve her ARCT through RCM before graduating high school in 2020 at the age of eighteen. In addition to her formal training in classical music, Heidi loves playing by ear and composing pieces inspired by her favourite musicians and film composers. This skill has supported Heidi throughout her 7 years of teaching. She loves to teach and finds joy in helping students unlock new music skills; and strong musical comprehension. Her teaching goal is to bring students joy through the art of music; while supporting students to achieve their musical goals and strive for excellence.
Heidi is well known for performing in concerts as a soloist, chamber musician, and accompanist. She also regularly accompanies choirs and string performers for various exams and competitions, including the Provincial Music Festival.
A quote by renowned J.S. Bach that has inspired her in both her career as a performer and a teacher reads, “The final aim and reason of all music is nothing other than the glorification of God and the refreshment of the soul.” Music is a gift for everyone, and Heidi is thrilled for another avenue to bring it to others with Mayfield Long and McQuade.
Heidi’s rate is $30 per half-hour.
