Bandleader, composer, songwriter and guitarist Allan Suarez has been musically active for over 25 years. Allan started playing Colombian Guitar music as a child, studied guitar performance at the Alberta Vocational College, Music theory at Concordia College and vocal performance and ear training at Grant McEwan College’s extension programme.
His favourite music styles include: Colombian Music, Cumbia, Salsa, Parranda Paisa, Tango, Bolero, Flamenco,
Bellydance, Highlife, Soukous & Afro Beat.

Bogdan is a teacher and composer in Edmonton. His teaching career started 25 years ago in Romania and continued in Canada - Quebec , Ontario and Alberta. He is also an active composer , writing for solo instruments, small and large ensembles.
His method of teaching, encompasses not only learning an instrument , but also all the elements (music theory, harmony, counterpoint and forms) that help shape a player to better understand a musical score and contributing to elevate student musicianship overall.
Bogdan holds a Bachelor of Music in Composition and Pedagogy from U of Arts “G. Enescu” Romania, Master in Music Theory from U of Ottawa and accomplished three years of Phd in Music Composition from U of Alberta.
Bogdan offers lessons in piano, guitar, music composition, electronic production and virtual orchestration. He is also preparing students for RCM examinations. He teaches at our Edmonton North location and his rate is $32.00 per half hour.

Cam Steele is a teacher, performer, and composer in Edmonton. He performs regularly in Edmonton in various contemporary styles from rock, blues, jazz, RnB, funk, and popular music. Cam also plays as a solo guitarist inspired by great fingerstyle players and classical repertoire. Cam values teaching music as a language and creates a space where students start making music within their first lesson. Cam also offers instruction in music technology, electronic production, songwriting, and orchestration. Lessons with Cam are constructed around learning how to really play the music students want to do!
Cam holds a Music Diploma and a Bachelor of Music Composition from MacEwan University, and is currently pursuing a degree in Music Education from the University of Alberta.

Playing guitar since the age of 8, Cohn deeply understands the joys and frustrations of learning an instrument. His years of lessons, gigging, teaching, and music education at MacEwan University have culminated in a passion and refined method for teaching music to students of any age or skill. With a diverse background in performing, his repertoire includes rock, country, jazz, classical, and other various genres. While Cohn strives to finish his music degree in composition, he wants to help you meet your goals with as much efficiency and fun as possible. Whether you’re looking to play acoustic or electric guitar, learn songs or learn a few chords, or refine your technique and have an advanced understanding of the guitar, no goal is unattainable.

craig doll (Drums)

Craig Doll has been playing drums almost 18 years. Drumming has enabled Craig to play many live shows, record, and tour. The drums have been Craig's life’s passion since he started playing and he hopes to instill that same passion with you on your journey!
As far as formal education, Craig completed a diploma in music from MacEwan University in 2020 and now is currently working towards a Bachelor’s degree in music. He has studied many different styles: rock/pop, hip hop, jazz, Latin/Afro-Cuban, metal, and funk - to name a few. Craig has also spent a lot of time on rudimental practice, which is the foundation of what drummers do behind the kit and helps immensely to grow on this instrument.
Recently, Craig had the opportunity to study alongside Broadway drummer and YouTuber Carter McLean, which really elevated Craig's understanding of the drums. As of February 2021, he is embarking on studying with Dave Elitch, who works with a lot of the music industry’s top drummers.
Craig is looking forward to meeting you and starting you on your path. Craig teaches drum lessons at our Edmonton North location. His rate is $30 per half hour.

Erik is a pop, rock and jazz guitarist from Edmonton, Alberta. He has a music diploma with Performance Major from MacEwan University (2015) and has studied with accomplished guitarists Jim Head, Mo Lefever and Jamie Philp. Erik currently plays guitar and bass studio projects, live performances, and has done shows in a variety of venues across western Canada. He is also a song writer and composer. Erik offers guitar, bass, and Ukulele lessons at our Edmonton North location.

Jerry taught band in a high school setting for over 15 years, and holds a Bachelor of Music as well as a Master of Education degree. Jerry has had a love of teaching for many years and wants to continue passing on his knowledge at Long & McQuade. Primarily Jerry plays violin, clarinet and saxophone but can also teach any band instrument up to a level 2 proficiency. Jerry offers lessons at our Edmonton North location.

Leah Balding has been playing piano since the age of 7, and grew up in a family with eclectic musical tastes. She graduated from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Music in 2019, and completed Opera NUOVA’s emerging artist program in 2018. While at the University of Alberta she received the Peace River Pioneer Memorial Scholarship in Music, and the Alexander Rutherford Scholarship. Drawing from her experience with yoga, breath, and Alexander Technique, Leah incorporates physical aspects into her teaching because she believes it is the foundation of expression and freedom. Leah has been teaching since 2016, and is welcoming new students in piano, voice, and music theory. Along with being trained in voice and piano, Leah is also a trained yoga teacher and an active performer in the community. She can help with interpretation, stage presence, performance, choral repertoire, ear training, theory, and becoming a well rounded musician. She believes that learning music should always be fun and accessible to everyone. Leah offers piano, voice, and theory lessons through our Edmonton North location.

Micah Hussell started playing the saxophone at age 10, and started playing piano shortly thereafter. He graduated from The King’s University College with a Bachelor of Music in saxophone performance. After finding his love for choral singing with The King's University College Concert and Chamber Choirs, he proceeded to sing with other choral ensembles including Edmonton Youth Choir, Alberta Youth Choir, Pro Coro Connect, and Chronos Vocal Ensemble. Micah recently graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters of Music in Saxophone Performance and Composition. Micah has been teaching piano and saxophone lessons at Long & McQuade Edmonton North since March 2016.

nicole klippenstein (Voice, Piano)

Nicole Klippenstein has been singing since the age of 4 and playing piano since age 6. She grew up singing in church, choir and music festivals. She holds a Bachelor of Music and Performer’s Certificate in Voice from The King’s University. She has also completed the 10-Day Intensive Opera Program through NUOVA Vocal Arts (formerly Opera NUOVA). She has sung with ensembles like Alberta Youth Choir and the Edmonton Opera Chorus. Nicole believes that music is a great means of inspiration and allows people to express themselves in a way that other fields cannot. She has students of all ages and believes that technique and emotion should be intertwined to create a great piece.

Paul is a graduate of the MacEwan University music program and has been teaching drum lessons for over 10 years. In addition to teaching private music lessons, Paul has been involved with drumline and percussion ensembles (both as a member and instructor) as well as concert bands. When not teaching Paul remains active in the local music scene playing, touring, and recording with a variety of bands. Paul offers drum lessons at our Edmonton North store.

tristan lahue (Drums)

An active musician and multi-instrumentalist, Tristan has been playing drums since 7th grade, getting his start as a percussionist in band class. With a Bachelor of Music in Drum Performance from MacEwan University and close to finishing a Bachelor of Education in Music from the University of Alberta, he is a well-educated and experienced musician in a wide variety of musical styles and genres. Tristan possesses an incredibly deep passion for music, especially as it pertains to the percussion family, and constantly strives to pass that passion onto others through fun and engaging yet instructive lessons. Outside of the studio, Tristan can be found in the Edmonton Winds percussion section or jamming with like-minded friends in the Sticks and Stone percussion trio. His musical tastes and abilities range from contemporary styles like rock, jazz, pop, and metal, to orchestral and video game music. Tristan likes taking a technical approach to drum instruction whilst catering to each student's individual needs and goals. His rate is $28 per half hour.
