The David G. Monette Corporation is a famed brass shop that has and continues to make some of the finest trumpets and mouthpieces available on the market today. Many renowned trumpeteers across the world play Monette instruments and continue to drive the eliteness of the Monette name.

Monette mouthpieces are desired for their response and tuning. Designed to negate the need for physical adjustments to find the 'sweet spot' of a horns resonance, allowing the player to approach the instrument with a more neutral and open embouchure to produce a more naturally full and resonant tone. Needing much less adjustment through the ranges of the trumpet, Monette mouthpieces and beloved for the ease of effort they ask from the player, further allowing a natural sound.

The 'B4L' size of Monette piece can be compared to a slightly wider Bach 3E. Monette mouthpieces are known to run slightly larger than their "conventional" equivalents, with larger rims, cups, throats, and backbores. They are desired lead pieces for their ease in the high register.
