AKG CM311-XLR Headset Microphone
Description
Originally known as the Crown CM311, the AKG CM311 reference head-worn condenser microphone is designed for touring and live-sound applications. It sounds like the best handheld microphones - full, clear and distortion-free, even with the loudest singers. The CM311 has been used by such performers as Madonna, Britney Spears, Garth Brooks and Justin Bieber.
Controlled field tests show that the Differoid provides up to 12dB more gain before feedback than conventional cardioid microphones. Differoid stands for differential cardioid, which cancels ambient noise from floor monitors, crowds and other sources. Many users of CM311 say that their house mix is better because the mic's isolation is nearly complete.
The CM-311-XLR includes a wired beltpack with an XLR output. The microphone is operated via either 18-48V phantom power, or 9 volt battery. The beltpack also features a programmable button which can be configured as a momentary mute switch (a 'cough button'), or push on / push off.
