Chris has been playing guitar and performing in bands throughout Vancouver and the lower mainland since 1998. Currently teaching at several Long & McQuade lesson Centres, he has been guiding budding and advanced guitar players for over a decade. Chris specializes in rock, pop and heavy metal, and teaches composition on the guitar. He is also the facilitator for the Rock Skool program, uniting youth to create music together. His rate is $30 per half hour.

An active member of many unique local bands, he has experience both locally and abroad. Eric has his Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from Capilano University. He has a passion for a great variety of music; jazz, pop, funk, blues, rock, and even metal. He is a versatile multi-instrumentalist with a desire to inspire and encourage students to enjoy playing music. His rate is $30 per half hour lesson.

Greg received his bachelors in Jazz Studies from Capilano University in 2022 and is an active member of the Vancouver music community. Greg has experience playing in small jazz combos, big bands and orchestral/contemporary classical settings. As an Educator, Greg focuses on building students' understanding of core concepts and fundamentals through classical technique, as well as building a breadth of knowledge in the jazz idiom. Greg is a multi-instrumentalist who teaches primarily trombone and trumpet, but is also well versed in Tuba, Baritone/Euphonium, and French Horn. Lessons are organized to adapt to individual students' learning styles as well as short/long-term goals. Greg works well with all skill levels from absolute beginner to professional players and hopes to help students build confidence and find joy in their craft.
His rate is $29 per half hour.

Jacob is a singer and guitarist, composer and sound engineer. His current band Quickness keeps him busy, and he also does shows as a solo looping artist and owns a recording studio. He has a long list of sound engineering customers including Snoop Dogg and Carly Rae Jepsen. Jacob offers something new to the lesson Centre, with recording, looping and beatboxing in his toolbox of skills. Jacob takes students 6 years old and up and all ability levels. His rate is $30 per half hour.

Kimberlee had her first piano lesson at the age of 5 with the RCM program and decided to pursue music teaching as a career. She has her ARCT performance certificate, and has been a member of the BCRMTA since 2000. She has been teaching for over 28 years and has been very successful preparing candidates for RCM practical and theory exams. She believes in catering lessons to the needs and goals of each individual student. Her rate is $31 per half hour.

Shortly after picking up his kid sister’s abandoned guitar at the age of 13, Paul began concentrating on drums. By 15, he was already teaching in a marching band, as well as at Berger Music in Richmond, England. Shortly after graduating high school, Paul became a full-time touring drummer, a career he pursued until he acquired the Milestone Percussion (now known as Tempus Drums) business in 1985. Between ‘85 and ‘13 he custom built almost 7500 unique drums; these days he’s more musically active than ever, teaching, writing, recording and performing music, as well as through his activities as a music advocate, music therapist and special needs EA with the North Vancouver school district. His rate is $30 per half hour.

Peter has a passion for drumming and has been teaching percussion and playing drums professionally since the 80s. His background, education and experience includes a variety of styles; ranging from pop music, rock, jazz, funk, world music, classical, and marching band. Peter began his formal musical education at the age of 10, studying with a number of local drum teachers; including Ken Moore and John Fisher. He also attended the VCC Music Program. He has been the dynamic drummer of the popular local band, Dr. Strangelove, since 1992. He also performs with many other local musicians and bands on a regular basis. The core essence of his teaching philosophy is to create an atmosphere of freedom and fun. Lessons range from beginner to advanced, and are tailored to each individual - taking into consideration age and level of experience. His rate is $30 per half hour.
sara clark (Piano, Theory)

Sara holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education. She has completed her Grade 10 RCM as well as advanced theory. She currently teaches piano and theory, including basic to advanced Rudiments, Harmony, and Counterpoint. With over ten years of teaching she aims to teach music concepts that create a foundation that will provide self-directed learning. Her goal is to foster a love for learning and music appreciation. Her rate is $30 per half hour.
selena liu (Cello)

Selena is a classically trained cellist who has played in many local ensembles, orchestras and a variety of chamber groups. She has obtained a Bachelor of Music in Cello from Kwantlen Polytechnic University. Currently, Selena is an elementary school music teacher. She believes students have their own ways of learning, and teaching in an engaging way will help students discover their love for music. Her rate is $30 per half hour.

Ysabelle was born and raised in Quebec, and has moved across Canada with the goal of taking her artistic career to a new level. With more than 15 years of experience under her belt, she has been ongoingly perfecting her teachings, vocal & musicianship skills, to consistently grow as a musician, but also as a voice & stage performance instructor. You might have seen her sing on big productions like; Canadian Idol, Star Académie, La Voix, or performing with various bands of all styles around town. Constantly promoting the healing power of singing, Ysabelle believes and is a testament, that music is fundamental to human kind and that anyone can learn to sing organically. She welcomes anyone with or without experience! Her rate is $31 per half hour.
