craig doll (Drums)
Registration RequestOnline Lessons:
Teaching Day(s): Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Hello, my name is Craig Doll and I have been playing drums 19 years. I work as a session drummer and educator in Edmonton. Drumming has enabled me to play many live shows, record, and tour. The drums have been my life passion since I started playing and I hope to instill that same passion with you on your journey!
As far as formal education, I was awarded my diploma in music at MacEwan University in 2020 and now I am currently working towards my bachelor's degree. I have studied many different styles such as: rock/pop, hip-hop, jazz, latin/afro-cuban, punk, metal, and funk - to name a few. Alongside studying styles, I have also spent a lot of time on rudimental practice, which is the foundation of what drummers do behind the kit and has helped me immensely grow on this instrument. During the pandemic, I had the opportunity to study alongside Broadway drummer and YouTuber Carter McLean which elevated my understanding of the drums.
Always trying to push myself, I am now working through top LA drummer Dave Elitchs esteemed drum course, Get Out Of Your Own Way. This course is designed to go into the physiology, mechanics, and mentality behind the drum kit. The main takeaway of this course is to use the mind and body in an efficient way to gain maximum results behind the drum kit. I plan to use his philosophy moving forward and will implement the techniques I learn into my lesson plans.
Craig teaches at our Edmonton Mayfield, North & Highland locations. His rate is $30 per half hour.
