Steve McRae has been an active member of the Hamilton Music Scene since 2004. He was musical director for several productions in the city including Sunset Boulevard, Gypsy, Side Show, Nine, The Little Mermaid and The Addams Family. Since graduating with Honours from Mohawk College, McMaster University and the Royal Conservatory of Music, Steve has been in demand as a teacher, performer, accompanist, church musician and adjudicator in the Hamilton area.

STEVE SUTTON, (B.A., Dip. Mus.) is a Vancouver Island based, Professional Bassist and Guitar Teacher who has performed locally, in Vancouver and in California. Steve was born and raised in Nanaimo and began his musical journey in the School District 68 music program playing the trombone and the classical guitar. Later, Steve attended Malaspina University College's Music Program, (now Vancouver Island University), focusing on bass guitar and double bass. He graduated in 2002.

During the summer of 2003 he attended the Victoria Conservatory summer jazz workshop where he studied with jazz greats Neil Swainson, Misha Piatogorsky and Don Thompson. In September 2010 he attended a Ukulele workshop in Sonoma California, training with Hawaiian Ukulele Master Kimo Hussey.

Steve teaches guitar, bass guitar, double bass, ukulele and trombone at our Langford location.
Steve's rate is $30 per lesson.

Stuart Steinhart has been a professional musician for over 40 years, and has been studying and performing for 50 years. He has taught countless students from beginner to advanced academics as well as professionals and teachers.

Starting with studies at the age of 7 he has won many awards, studied at prestigious schools in the USA and recorded with many of Canada's and the world's top musicians. His work has gained numerous awards and praise, much of his work can be viewed and listened to on the World Wide Web.

His teaching style has garnered acclaim for his integration and understanding of music from its beginning to its spiritual side through his many years of study of Musicology/History/Philosophy.

He teaches Bass (acoustic and electric 4, 5, 6, and 7 string), Piano, Guitar, and Modern and Classical theory.

Suneal Pal graduated from Wilfred Laurier University with an Honors B.A. in Guitar Performance. He achieved first class honors in grade nine R.C.M. Since graduation, he has performed widely to rave reviews, recorded several CDs, and taught students of all ages and abilities. Suneal plays Acoustic, Classical, Electric, Rock, and Finger-style guitar and is also well-versed in Flamenco, Latin, and Jazz rhythms.

Susan Sharpe (violin) began playing through the Halifax schools’ strings program. She has played in the Nova Scotia Youth Orchestra and Mount Allison String Ensemble, and continues to play orchestral music with the Halifax Music Co-op. Susan enjoys playing a wide range of music, from classical to fiddle to music from movies and video games. Always on the lookout for more opportunities to play in a group, her favorite musical experience is playing in big orchestras. With experience teaching in musical and academic settings, Susan has taught all ages from young children to adults. She enjoys introducing students to the violin, helping them reach the next level in their playing and seeing them succeed. Susan’s rate for a half hour lesson will be $26.

Susana Williams has over 20 years of experience teaching music to children, teens, and adults, specializing in voice, drums, percussion, and songwriting. She studied at the Juan Jose Landaeta Conservatory and The Roland Learning Centre in Venezuela and received the Jazz Studies Capilano Program Award. Currently, she is pursuing a BA in Music at Vancouver Community College, majoring in drums. Susana has also developed educational content for Musora Media Inc. Susie’s music journey started as the winner of the first PNE talent search. Since then, she has had 12 years of vocal training, from opera, musical theatre, folk to pop, rock, and country. Susie worked at several musical theatre dinner shows, then went on the road with a variety of bands. including the Canadian Superstar, Dan Hill. Susie recorded her own albums- “Something Real” and "Tartan", before being featured on "Jewels on The Island Compilation". She continues to perform, teach, manage artists and produce events. She has had the opportunity to write with and learn from many amazing songwriters, including the indie band, Mother Mother. She is proud to have a co-write on their album “Inside” called “The Knack.” She loves sharing her passion for singing, songwriting and the Music Industry with those who want to learn. Suzie Luton began playing at the age of 4, first beginning on cello, then the violin. She attended Canterbury High School, where she was a part of the strings program. There she was given the opportunity to try the viola.
She attended the University of Ottawa, completing an Honours Bachelor of Arts with Specialization in Music where she was able to take performance classes, music education classes, and participate in the ETAP program with Orkidstra.
In addition to music, Suzie is also a registered teacher with the Royal Academy of Dance and has been teaching ballet for six years. Suzie is passionate about teaching and is grateful for the opportunity to pass on her passion for music to the next generation of students.

Takafumi Tan got his Bachelor of Arts and Science degree (Major in Music, minor in Mathematics) from the University of Lethbridge. He has more than 20 years of violin and piano training with performance from The Royal Conservatory of Music (RCM) and received the Provincial medals for Level 4 (2003) and Level 6 (2005) in violin RCM examination. He has played in symphonies in both Japan and Lethbridge Canada. He has also taught violin and piano in various music schools and privately in Lethbridge and Calgary. Tatiana is a piano teacher with over 20 years of experience. Having studied twelve years in Russia, she graduated with a specialization in piano and accompaniment. Tatiana moved to Canada in 2010 and has been teaching since. Ms. Dvorianskaya participated as a piano soloist and accompanist in Québec, Russia, Europe and Chile. She performed as an accompanist at various festivals and competitions with the ensemble « Harmony» (performers of the Mariinsky Theatre and St. Petersburg Opera). Since 2013, Tatiana collaborates with the Canadian pianist Alejandra Cifuentes Diaz, with whom she produced their first CD album – Piano for four hands. Tatiana is always eager to learn and perfect herself. She is currently taking a graduate studies course in “Pédagogie instrumentale” at the University of Montreal. Having taught more than a hundred students, Ms. Dvorianskaya is pleased to join the teaching staff at Long & McQuade, where she teaches students of all ages and levels. In her opinion, every student is unique and talented. Her goal is to uncover this talent by encouraging the student's thought process and as well as developing the student's autonomy.

Tony Tucker ‎is a percussionist from St. John's, who started playing drum kit at the young age of 10, alongside his parents who played piano and organ in church. In the 90’s, Tony began studying world percussion; his primary focus being traditional Flamenco, West African, Middle-Eastern, and Latin percussion. Tony's passion for West African music led him to study with djembe masters Famoudou Konate, Mohamed Kalifa Kamara, Mamady Keita, & M'Bemba Bangoura. He performed with 5-piece drum ensemble Fola, specializing in Guinean percussion. In 1997, Tony joined the El Viento Flamenco, wherein he has perfected the integral and complex hand clapping. The group performed with many Canadian symphonies, the Lunenburg Folk Harbour Festival, the Atlantic Festival of Lights, PEI’s Folk and Jazz Festival, The Atlantic Film Festival, and Ottawa International Chamber Music Festival.
