Hot Rod amps deliver unmistakable Fender tone and are the perfect platform for musicians to craft their own signature sound. These no-frills amps are affordable, reliable and loud, and they pair extremely well with stomp boxes. The Hot Rod Deluxe III is a 40-watt single 12 combo - the standard for gigging guitarists worldwide. Famous for the low-end headroom characteristic of 6L6 tubes and a versatile all-12AX7 tube preamp, it also boasts luscious Fender spring reverb, an effects loop and more. Players wanting to add a little more output, fullness and stage coverage can even add a matching 112 extension enclosure (P/N 223-1010-000). Additional Hot Rod Deluxe III upgrades include an easier-to-read black control panel with front-reading text, new badge, streamlined footswitch, graduated volume and treble pot tapers, tighter overdrive and a Celestion G12P-80 speaker.

Celestion G12P-80 12" speakers tighten bass response and offer harmonically enhanced character when pushing hard in the Drive channel.

• Improved modified tone circuit gives tighter overdrive voice and midrange punch

• Graduated volume and tone potentiometers offer smoother, more refined and predictable linear sweep

This amp is by far the best sounding tube amp I've ever had! I owned the Peavey Classic 50 and I thought that was an awesome amp and i also owned the Peavey Valveking 212 tube that was okay. I also have the Line 6 Flextone 3 XL awesome amp too. I also the Marshall JCM 900 212 also an awesome amp. But the best one so far is the Fender Hot Rod Deluxe III. Now I am a Fender Amp believer! You try this amp and I guarantee you will buy it too. It has clean sound out of this world and it accepts pedals very well My salesman Joe from North York L&M was also an awesome guy and was very patient with me

I have owned many guitar amps in my 49 years of playing. While the Fender Twin was by far the best of the bunch, I can no longer manage the weight. But the Hot Rod Deluxe gives me the familiar 6L6 sound similar to its big brother. I don't really have much use for the drive section as I like to play clean. Some people complain about ice picky sound but that's what tone knobs are for. I play a lot of different types of music but jazz is my passion and this amp delivers.

This amp is a great amp to have if you are a blues musician. Works well with pedals. You do not have to be a rocket scientist to make it work. Great sound. Only thing I do not like is the flimsy handle.

Loud amp with punchy bottom end I paired mine with the matching extension cab then A/B it with a Fender Virbolux Reverb. Great robust sound. Got a very good price from L&M, thanks Matt!

I got great advice from one of the staff when I asked which amp to get for gigging small clubs and venues. It's got a lot of power for such a small package. The amp plays really well with effects. I like to run everything in front of the amp on a clean channel. The clean tone is gorgeous and I never understood it when people talked about the 'Fender clean tone' until I got this. It has great bite when I hit the front end with a great distortion. My only concern is that dog collar handle as it just breaks off like nothing. I've gotten mine replaced and no issues from here on in.

This Fender amp sounds amazing through all of my guitars. I could not be happier with this amp. I have played many Fender amps and honestly this one is the best so far. Classic Fender tone. Sounds awesome clean, dirty or with pedals. I would not say it sounds better than my Marshall DSL 40-C but different for sure. If you are looking for an awesome sounding Fender amp and don't want to pay a small fortune for it then get this amp.

I play both an acoustic electric and a Gibson SG. I wanted an upgrade in my overall sound. Not all amps sound great with both types of guitars. My Acoustasonic 150 was in for repairs so I rented a Hot Rod Deluxe III, 40 watts, 1 Celestion speaker. This amp sounded so good and was two steps up from the Acoustasonic 150 I had to buy a new Hot Rod Deluxe. There is such a bump in quality from the long to mid range I attribute to the 12" speaker. Very satisfied with the new amp. It could use a better handle for its 50 lbs of weight. The Acoustasonic is a wonderful sounding amp with so little feed-back. The only way I knew about this upgrade was because I had to take my amp in for a minor switch repair. Rented the Hot Rod Delux and knew shortly after plugging it in that it was the sound for me. .It sounds great for classic rock, some jazz, softer rock and middle of the road songs. The key here is that this amp is the very best sounding amp for both an acoustic electric and an electric guitar. Low end response is just great to listen to.

I picked up my HotRod Deluxe used over a year ago. It is LOUD, and very versatile in both practice and gig situations. Being a Fender, it's tough and reliable, plus I like the large chicken head knobs. The drive channels are useful, but the overdrive can get muddy and too diluted for those who like crisper sound. Add stomp boxes for precise tones. While it's portable and one piece, it is heavy (about 45 lbs). I use this amp every week and can rely on it. Very happy with this amp, and for the price, it delivers that throaty tube crunch and breaks up nicely when driven.

It's loud and has that distinguished Fender tube sound. Great for gigs in small to medium venues, but a little too hot for home use as a practice amp to my tastes. Blues Jr would be a more sensible choice here, but if you need a little more "pop" the HRD has got the guts.

I bought a limited edition one with a vintage 30 in it. Going in for it's second set of preamp tubes in less than six months...First set of tubes popped loudly when it was turned on (after sitting on standby for at least 30 seconds) and then volume would fluctuate. With the new preamp tubes, it has worked great for a couple months and is now experiencing volume and tone fluctuations again. I use this amp primarily at home with the master volume on both channels set around 2. When jamming, it gets up to around 6. I'm very careful with it when transporting as well. L&M have been very good so far of taking care of things under warranty. Let's hope we can get this thing repaired or replaced with something of equal value (~$900.00 after taxes).

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
