Been playing 30 years. This amp with a meteora and its dual split coils has me swinging widely from punk to 70s anthem and sounding at my best. It is a small, very portable tube amp with growling EL84s and 12AX7s. You want same tubes but higher wattage, you're looking at a Marshall mini Jubilee @ $2X the price or a Mesa Boogie Mark V @ $3X price.. This amp is a 15W 'practice amp' for everyday use and face it, if you aren't some rock star, this is all you need and plenty loud for a home studio.

I bought on of these used and was pleasantly surprised at the warm, rich sound it delivers. I've seen YouTube videos comparing it with upgraded speakers but the standard Celestion A speaker does the job nicely. It's a no frills amp and it's plenty loud for home use. Highly recommended.

You cannot beat this amp for the price. It has such an array of tones to get out of it it'll keep you busy for hours. Classic fender cleans to rock and blues it covers all my needs. My pedals sound so much better plugged into this amp I'm discovering all sorts of new sounds. 100% worth the extra $100 over the Pro Jr imo. Volume/Master volume allow you to play at bedroom levels or play it at a gig. You won't be disappointed.

Heard one of the Blues Junior III amps at a clinic three years ago.and what caught my ear is how you can adjust the two volumes to get a Blackface or Tweed tone. I have used a Bassman Reissue years ago and a Blackface Twin Reverb, Super Reverb and Deluxe so I know what Fender amps can produce to their extremes. I was after an amp that could be set relatively clean then put a Tubescreamer on top with a few other efffects with batteries like chorus, wah and be able to be mobile for quick small jams without bringing my main amp with a ton of pedals.with power supply on a pedalboard. I compared the amp to a Bassman and a Princeton and the Blues Junior comes very close perhaps 75%..Although the American made amps can have better speakers, cabinet and reverb, the Junior held its own. The III version however had not as good a reverb, the Eminence speaker was OK and overall was a bit boxy. The IV version has a better reverb and the boxiness is not as obvious, The stock Celestion V speaker is not as Fenderish like an Eminence or Jensen. The amp can be loud for gigging yet you can turn it low enough for home practice. I may try the Tweed version with the Jensen speaker to compare.as Jensens typically break up at lower volumes. Either I upgrade to that amp or just change the speaker. Also the footswitch is optional which I would like to get. It controls the fat switch for a slight boost for clean soloing which I would like to try but good luck finding it in stock. Very impressive little amp for the money though.. .

I had been looking for an amp to compliment my American Vintage Telecaster for quite a while. I had tried previous versions of the Blues Junior (the 2 and III), but they left me indifferent. I also tried direct competitors (VOX AC15 and Orange Rocker 15), but heavy distortion, which these excel at, is not my go-to sound. Finally, I tried the Blues Junior IV, and was blown away. With this version, I feel Fender really addressed all the little annoyances of previous versions, like the ''boxy'' sound and the unnatural reverb. Being primarily a bass player, I'm always looking for a good low-end, deep sound, and this amp delivers. And WOW can it ever go loud...

Bought this amp with the Cream-back Speaker, Surf Green Edition, and i love it. This model is a dramatic improvement over the others, re reverb, bias, circuits, does not run as hot, so tubes should last longer.Great little amp if your a Jazz player, with a hollow body, warm and mellow tones, however plug in a Les Paul, turn on the fat switch, and this amp really rocks. Note: For Jazz, the Creamback speaker sold me on this amp, but woks well for blues.

After using a Roland Cube 60 for 16 years, wanted to get that real Fender Strat sound and bought a Blues Jr. 4, a few weeks ago, the latest one with the white control knobs. Well made, quality materials and the sound is just fantastic. Only problem that is not so nice is a strong hum / buzz coming out of the Amp when the Volume (not the Master Volume) knob is turned on, it gets worse if that knob gets turned up to a higher setting. Once you play it is not really audible, but once you stop, it sounds annoying, so first thing to do is turn volume down on the guitar, an American made Fender Strat. I wonder if this is "normal" or is there perhaps an issue? I will stop by Long and McQuad in Langley, BC soon and ask them if there would be a solution to the problem.

This blues jr. has crystal clear clean tones and very smokey dirty tones. The reverb is top notch as well, don't let the size of this amp deceive you....it's loud and has a lot of balls. A great pedal platform. I love this amp and will never part with it, so glad I bought it.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
