The Pro-Mod series continues upon Charvel's storied legacy of innovative excellence in high-performance guitar design, offering the latest technology and top-notch features that modern players need.

An ideal instrument for dazzling high-speed playing, the San Dimas Style 1 HH FR M QM boasts scorching sound, stunning style and grin-inducing playing feel and performance. Featuring an alder body with an elegant quilt maple top, this guitar also has a bolt-on two-piece maple neck with a pair of graphite reinforcement rods to resist bending and warping under environmental stresses. The speed neck profile is designed for lightning fast playing and completely unhindered position shifts while the comfortably rolled fingerboard edges provide the broken- in feel of an instrument with plenty of playing miles on it, and plenty more to go. Its maple fingerboard hosts 22 jumbo frets and black dot inlays, and has a heel-mounted spoke wheel for quick and convenient truss rod adjustments.

High-output Seymour Duncan JB and Seymour Duncan '59 humbucking pickups are directly mounted to the body, cranking out high-octane rock 'n' roll tone with plenty of sweet overtones. The volume control conceals a push/pull coil split to have even more tonal variations on tap while the No-Load tone control operates like a standard tone control from positions one through nine, removing itself from the circuit at position ten for transparent sound, letting the full natural voice of the guitar shine through. Dive to rumbling depths or add a well-placed rising harmonic without sacrificing your tuning with the Floyd Rose 1000 series double- locking recessed tremolo bridge system.

Designed with style in mind, the San Dimas Style 1 HH FR M QM is available in two new bold and elegant finishes - Purple Phaze and Chlorine Burst. Both feature chrome hardware, including a Charvel neck plate, sealed die-cast tuners and standard strap buttons.

Having owned this guitar for a few months, I've had a chance to explore it. Features: The finish is top notch. This guitar can operate as a more modern instrument as well as a stripped down hot rodded superstrat due to the no load tone control. Lots of variety in sound with all the pickup combinations. Important to note, this is a genuine Floyd Rose, not a licensed version. It has all the same quality material and specs as a German Floyd except that it is made in Korea. It keeps tune very well. Quality: Mexican Charvel guitars are made as good as USA Fenders, which is odd since Charvel uses the same factories as Fender. Finish is flawless and the neck is by far the best part of this guitar. Smooth feel, comfortable profile and *zero* fret sprout. Seymour Duncan pickups are always high quality. Out of the box it was in tune, with proper neck relief and comfortable string action for myself. Value: Best quality, sound and features for the price. Overall: Charvel is churning out USA build quality guitars in their Mexico facilities. I'm surprised and impressed. Go Charvel over Fender for quality per $

A while ago, I used to own an early 2000s MIM strat before I sold it. The neck was way too fat, the neck finish was too glossy and the fingerboard edges were sharp. It felt and played like a poorly built guitar. On a whim, wanting to own something with 80s metal feel and tone, I bought this guitar after reading overwhelmingly positive reviews, most notably about the guitar's overall construction. I was apprehensive since the guitar was made in Mexico, however the reviews were right. -The finish is just beautiful on the body. The quilted maple top is eye catching and the chlorine burst color is magnificent. -The neck is smooth and comfortable. No thick glossy finish to resist your hand movements. -Nice relatively thin profile and the compound radius fretboard allows easy playing. -The guitar feels solid, but not too heavy. -The JB/59 pickups sound great on a cranked tube amp and nail the 80s sound and are pretty versatile. -The fine details that you don't expect from a made in Mexico guitar are all there: rolled fretboard edges, level Floyd Rose bridge, no fret buzz, smooth responsive switching/knobs. It plays more comfortably than my 80s USA Fender strat. FMIC must have really improved their factory in Mexico in recent years (or maybe it's just the Charvels) because this thing feels/plays like a USA made guitar without the price tag. If you want a hot-rodded strat style guitar with some attitude, this is it.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
