Delivering unmatched sound quality and musical expression, the GT-1000 ushers in a new era of performance in amp/effects processors for guitar and bass. This premium tone machine debuts the groundbreaking AIRD (Augmented Impulse Response Dynamics) technology, realized with decades of BOSS research and class-leading 32-bit/96 kHz processing. There's also a huge range of BOSS effects, complete with ultra-flexible routing options and deep real-time control. And with built-in Bluetooth, you can tweak settings wirelessly from your mobile device via a dedicated app. Packing immense power in a streamlined pro design, the GT-1000 is a game changer that brings new levels of creative expression to players everywhere.

Latest GT-1000 Update: Version 3.2 (January 2022)
The GT-1000 continues to evolve through ongoing firmware development that adds new features and functionality enhancements requested by users.
• Mastering FX - Eleven different Mastering FX allow you to shape the overall sound at the line output for different styles and playing situations.
• New Master Delay Types - Five delay algorithms from the historic BOSS/Roland library have been added: SDE-3000, DD-20 Standard and DD-20 Analog, and Warm and Glitch from the DD-8.
• More Onboard Speaker IRs for Recording - The speaker IR selection in Recording mode has been greatly expanded with the ability to use "Original" speaker types from different amplifiers.
• More Mic Types - A new RBN121 mic type and three mic blend types have been added to the Speaker Simulator block.
• EV-1-WL Support - Use the EV-1-WL Wireless MIDI Expression Pedal for cable-free effects control via Bluetooth.

Designed for Unparalleled Sound Quality
The GT-1000 brings you no-compromise audio performance backed by the latest BOSS technologies. It's the first-ever guitar multi-effects unit with 32-bit AD/DA, 32-bit floating-point processing, and 96 kHz sampling rate throughout, while the custom DSP engine packs over three times the power of previous generations. This immense processing muscle unlocks far greater sonic detail than ever before possible, making it easy to get the sounds you're after without endless parameter tweaks and microscopic EQ adjustments.

Highly Musical Guitar Amplifiers, Crafted with AIRD
The GT-1000 is loaded with immensely expressive guitar amplifiers, all meticulously crafted with AIRD. In contrast to traditional modeling methods, AIRD reproduces the complex internal component interactions of tube amps in every way, from guitar input to speaker output and everything in-between. The result is a complete interactive system that's a living, breathing instrument, just like your favourite high-end tube amp.

The GT-1000 features a wide range of BOSS original amplifiers suitable for all guitar styles, from super-clean to ultra-heavy. A number of amp types employ Multi-Dimensional Processing (MDP) technology for dynamic, nuanced tone that reaches beyond the capabilities of analog designs. Classic tube amps throughout history are included as well, from coveted vintage combos to modern high-gain heads. Two amps can be used at once in a single patch, so you're able to switch between two sounds, blend amps for complex tones, or achieve big, expansive sound in stereo setups.

Optimized Performance for Every Playing Application
AIRD enables the GT-1000 to flow smoothly into any setup with minimal adjustments. By choosing from the large selection of onboard AIRD Output Select types, you can perfectly tailor the GT-1000 for any destination, whether it's a guitar amp input, an amp effects return, an FRFR monitoring system, or house PA. In addition to the onboard options, there are two user locations for loading more types with the GT-1000 AIRD Output Select Library software.

AIRD is integrated into the GT-1000's amplifiers at every level, so you'll always experience their authentic sound and interactive response with any setup. Going further, you can apply different AIRD Output Select settings to the main and sub outputs to optimize the sound for two destinations at once. Independent ground-lift functions are also available to tackle hum issues when connecting external devices.

Extraordinary Effects
The GT-1000 comes loaded with all types of effects, from BOSS classics and retro stompboxes to modern MDP effects and advanced algorithms from the BOSS 500 series. Multiple series and parallel routings are easy to set up via the intuitive interface. And with the clever Stompbox feature, you can adjust commonly used amp and effects settings across multiple patches at once. There are also two effects loops for patching in your favourite external effects and preamps.

Bass Multi-Effects Flagship
The GT-1000 takes bass processing to new heights with next-generation sound quality and ultra-flexible performance features. Three AIRD bass preamps are provided for shaping your core tone, while eight different overdrive/distortion effects are available for additional colour and gain. There's an MDP bass compressor as well, plus chorus, flanger, touch wah, and many other effect types specially tuned for bass.

Intensive Performance Control
With its ten footswitches and expression pedal with toe switch, the GT-1000 gives you comprehensive creative control wherever you play. And you can go even deeper with external switches, pedals, MIDI, and USB. The onboard controls come with default assignments for preset selection and per-patch control targets, but you can easily reassign them to operate nearly any function. Manual and Pedalboard modes are also available to instantly reconfigure the footswitches for additional control in the heat of the moment.

USB Audio/MIDI and Wireless Editing via Bluetooth
The GT-1000 is equipped with onboard Bluetooth - a first for a pro-level amp/effects processor - allowing you to wirelessly manage sounds from the BOSS Tone Studio app for iOS and Android. Whether at home, in rehearsal, or on stage, you can comfortably tweak the GT-1000 from your mobile device without having to bend over and edit with the hardware. It's even possible to record a riff with the GT-1000's looper and adjust tones from the audience position!

There's also a multi-channel USB audio/MIDI interface for flexible computer recording and efficient re-amping. The dedicated Recording mode offers a variety of built-in speaker and mic types, and it's possible to import WAV-format speaker impulse responses with the GT-1000 IR Loader software. In addition, USB provides a connection for detailed patch editing and sound organization with the desktop version of BOSS Tone Studio.

For live use this pedalboard used in 4 cable method does very well for medium to high gain and clean sounds. Not to crazy about the rectifier model, but you can use it with an amp. The best thing to do is to shut the Speaker Sim off unless you go front of house. I recenly gave the Gt1000 Core and GX100 a second try and for me the GT1000 is best. If you buy the core and add expression pedals you might as well opt for the GT1000. Hopefully Boss continues to work on updates. Maybe a color screen down the road

Although amp modeling has come to the forefront with this Boss model it also excels as an effects unit. I am not using the amp modeling. I had a GT-1000 then sold it because I personally could not bond with the high-gain tones. Now I have another one I am using with an amp using the four cable method. Unlike it's little brother, the MS-3 (which I also had), the GT-1000 does not greatly affect your tone. My high-gain amp retains the immediacy, character and bite it has without the GT-1000. The flexibility of the effects in this unit is amazing. And the ability to control almost any parameter of any effect from switches and expression pedals is amazing. The GT-1000 is also a great MIDI controller. There are four PATCH MIDI slots to send MIDI messages on patch selection and sixteen assigns within each patch. The assigns allow you to control effects or send MIDI CC or PC messages. For example I have an external switch (Boss FS-7) where one of the switches is my "solo" mode. It turns on the internal compressor, sends a MIDI CC to my amp to toggle between the two master volumes and sends another MIDI CC to my amp, via a MIDI translation device, to switch amp channels. Also unlike previous Boss effects you don't need to switch between patch mode and stompbox mode. Since you can assign anything to any switch you can set things up the way you want. I have the bottom row of five switches set up to select the five patches within the current bank and the top row of five switches set up to turn on/off individual effects within the patch. The other half of the earlier mentioned FS-7 engages the tuner and I have a second FS-7 to offload the bank up/down function, freeing up the onboard switches. I was originally going to try to get a used Axe FX Ultra. The I discovered that the Axe FX units all use 24-bit 48KHz digital conversion where the GT-1000 uses 32-bit 96KHz conversion. And last but not least, the GT-1000 has the very low latency of 0.5ms, beating it's more expensive competitors. The means the feel of your playing is not affected. If you are looking for a powerful, transparent effects unit this is a great option.

I have tried everything I could to get a decent sound with every amp model and distortion /overdrive pedal and not one of them sounded good through FRFR or an analogue amp. I have researched all the advice and nothing works. The only amp I ever had any success with this was the Fender Princeton which is a pristine clean amp. Does not play well with Black Spirit 200 clean channel or through FX return. Sounds a bit better through headrush monitors but not usable live.

How well an amp modeler or Multi effects cleans up with string separation on low to middle gain amp models is an indication of how good the pedal Board is. Anyone in this business can produce a metal sound that by and large will satisfy most. I am going to rent a V3.0 for a month to have another look at it. But the last time, with Headrush Monitors it was not a pleasing experience. I have been playing in bands for over 40 years and not one of the major digital multi effects have been a substitute for the real thing, All of them have terrible renditions of distortion and overdrive pedals. Boss has good modulation, delay and reverb effects. The question is , is it worth spending 1500.00 taxes in to get them. We will soon see. So you should listen and try it yourself. It is a personalized evaluation depending on the range of music I will let you know soon

I have tried most modelers on the market and like this one the most. It has a fairly steep learning curve but the software is the best of the bunch. It is also the stablest to program with a computer. I use it as a MIDI controller and it is awesome other than the fact that it does not transmit MIDI note messages. MIDI clock sync is superb. And patch MIDI is genius for changing external gear presets etc. The delays and modulations are stellar. Echo heaven! One piece of advice; when I first got it I was pretty disappointed with some of the presets and struggled to make good sounding presets myself....until I turned up the guitar input. Make sure you get out the manual and setup the input optimally. I wish I would have bought this one when it first hit the market.

This is the greatest multi-effects unit ever! It is amazing, even for an extremely picky player like me. First of all, this pedal has amp simulation that is out of this world. The built in amp modelling is the best I’ve ever seen—the overdrive is high quality and super touch sensitive. The cleans are also good, so you can play just about any genre with this. Second, the effects are amazing. I could create an entire virtual rig with this, and it will still sound like a traditional amp and pedalboard setup. Third, the pedal can sound amazing through an amplifier and PA system. If I want to be loud, I could plug this into a clean pedal platform or a power amp, or if the stage is too small for an amp, I can just connect this straight to the mixer. This is the last pedal I’ll ever need. It does everything for me.

If you complain about small screen on GT-1000 unit then plug into computer with a 32 inch monitor. You need one anyway. Put it on a desk and sit right in front of it. Use Boss Tone Studio. Very easy to edit, actually pleasurable. No squinting ever. I use a Sony high res TV plugged into a notebook computer. Use big monitor to learn fretboard progressions too. GT-1000 is updated to Version 3. Tone Studio is version 3 also. Weekly, look at Boss website for software updates. GT-1000 runs switchable parallel amps and effects internally. Other units can't do this. You don't get processor overload with Boss GT-1000. I showed this to an AX user and he had to agree GT-1000 is superior. So use a 32 inch monitor at home when editing and it will be easy on the eyes and nerves. The superior editing capabilities of Tone Studio becomes apparent with the GT-1000.

I had the Headrush pedalboard. I loved their operating system that was very visual, but the sound quality left to be desired. The Boss GT-1000 delivered as far as sounds, amps, drives etc. The tone studio editor works great but the graphics are small (my only complaint).

Bought second GT-1000. Can use my Stratocaster and Precision Bass. Can now use full manual mode. AIRD bass preamps, bass effects. New manual and pedalboard modes for direct access control. New types added to AIRD Output Select library. Assigned tuner to external expression pedal. Added bank up/down function to external Boss FS-7 Footswitch. Renamed patches on second GT-1000 unit. Renamed GT-1000 units from * to 1 and 2 when using Boss Tone Studio. Boss blows away the competition. Double the learning but 100 times the enjoyment.

I bought the GT-6, the GT-10 but the exceptional GT-1000 is a game changer. Whether you need lots of professionally crafted pre-set sounds or you're a sound shaping wizard there's nothing that compares with the quality and ingenuity of this guitar pedal. An obvious choice for pros but I'm convinced that beginners and intermediate musicians should experience this truly remarkable technological advancement. Worth ever penny.

Best effect unit for pros or guitar players who want best sound, ease, versatility. Liked the unit because: Brilliantly designed unit, the engineers who designed the unit listened to guitar players the way Leo Fender did when he designed the Stratocaster. I use a Boss ME-80 as an effect in one of the send/return loops of the GT-1000. The GT-1000 has extremely flexible routing and patch management. You can download dozens of great patches from Boss for free. The AIRD technology goes beyond traditional modelling, much more organic sounding, like the way a real tube amp sounds, feels and responds. This is the most advanced technology I have ever seen in an effects unit. But it requires dedication to learn the vast possibilities. Highly recommended. The 250 presets are not disappointing, you also have 250 user patches, they can be tweaked to your heart's content. Or just download a bunch of new patches for free. One feature that I like is being able to reassign buttons and express pedals. For example; to free up CTRL 3, use the heel down position of the expression pedal to engage the tuner when in any patch. Follow instructions listed in GT-1000 Guidelines on Boss site. I printed the guidelines to have quick access to dozens of useful tips. You can program patches from your computer via USB or tablet/phone via Bluetooth. No need to bend down to tweak dials. Just play a riff on the looper, let the loop play, and adjust sound options while walking around the room, with your tablet or phone, to see how it sounds, you can then hear what the audience would hear, no more blind guessing. Make sure you have the latest software update. As of today, 12 March 2019, the software version for the Boss GT-1000 is: 2.02. Use the unit for: Recording, practicing, playing live. As one of the pictures shows, the connections: Guitar Input, Main Out L/R, Phones Output, Send 1/2, Return 1/2, XLR out, CTRL 4/5/6/7, EXP 2/3, Amp CTRL 1/2, USB, MIDI In/Out, Power Switch, DC In. The other picture shows sample connections. The main picture shows a clean ergonomic interface. I use Stratocasters with floating tremolos, I use the whammy bar a lot, I need to micro-tune frequently. The EXP pedal heel down tuner option (instructions on Boss GT-1000 Guidelines site) gives me quick access to the great tuner, you can use it as a mono or polyphonic tuner, check your software version, latest update 2019, Version 2.02. Play clean, play dirty, have the expression pedal(s) vary the amount of any parameter. With my Strat, I get acoustic guitar sounds where you can't tell the difference. Since I like the long Strat neck and thin Strat body I don't have to sacrifice my easily playing high up on the neck. The GT-1000 gives me the sounds I like and need and I don't have to change guitars. I can play standing or sitting, and easily control the sound on the guitar with the GT-1000. Recording is the best thing about the GT-1000, so many good sound options. Trying to record with a guitar amp, microphones can be a hassle. The cabinet sounds are built into the GT-1000. Also AIRD, gives the feel of playing through the cabinet. I use Mesa Boogie guitar amps (Fillmore 50, TC-100) so I know what a high quality guitar amp sounds like. When recording, I can get those sounds with the GT-1000 plugged directly into the Tascam 32 channel recorder. Playing live or practicing, I plug the GT-1000 into the guitar amp. Thinking about getting a second Boss GT-1000. Have one set up in the studio ready to record and one in a transit case ready for gigs. I always want one wherever I am. It's that good.

Zero latency, reverb spillover from patch to patch, no processor overload issues as on units from other companies. AIRD means the sounds feels like a tube amp because the speaker cabinet interacts with the processor as in a real tube amp. I use Fender and Mesa Boogie tube amps on stage and in practice so I compare the sounds all the time. But for recording, I need something practical and high quality such as the Boss GT-1000. Lots or versatility, routing options. The high quality sounds of the MD-500, RV-500 and DD-500 are in the GT-1000. Lots of CTRL and EXP pedal options. 96kHz sampling rate, 32 bit processing. Several effects can be used at the same time in parallel or in series. The positions of the effects are user assignable. I use a Boss ME-80 for simplicity in some cases but the Boss GT-1000 is the way of the future. I will be recording with the GT-1000. Check out Glenn DeLaune's web site for great patches and tips. The GT-1000 comes with 250 preset patches and there are 250 user patches. The unit has IR loading. Seamless switching. 116 different effects. Lots of great amps. Two effects sends and returns. MIDI, USB, Bluetooth. Practice with it, perform with it, learn it, evolve with it.

I had originally purchased a Boss MS-3 to have as a small control center for my board, while utilizing the 3 loops for my Wampler Ego Compressor, and Truetone VSXO drive pedal, and then sending MIDI control to my Eventide H9 MAX (delay, tremolo, verbs) at the end of my chain. I knew some of the built in modulation and delay effects would be more than usable, and had anticipated (as with most multi effect units, H9 included) that the overdrives would be lack luster. However, I was BLOWN AWAY and SO IMPRESSED with built in drive tones. Totally usable for me, at least in the low gain spectrum of tones, as I'm not much of a high gain player. So I went back to L&M, returned the MS-3 and bought its big brother, the GT-1000. Being a pedal guy I feel like I have committed guitar pedal blasphemy, but I just absolutely love how user friendly it is, in that it doesn't take long to dial up great usable and inspiring tones. There's plenty of support online, updates that add even more sounds and pedals too. My biggest piece of advice is, for someone who may be new to these, is don't solely rely on the factory presets for how good it can sound. Wipe a bank clean, and build your own pedal by pedal. you'll be surprised.

Having previously purchased the GT-6, then the GT-10, the GT-1000 is more than just the natural successor in the Boss line of professional guitar foot pedals. The factory sounds are rich and lush. Of course, the ability to completely customize any sound is limitless and robust. It takes more than a quick tryout to learn how to manage this sophisticated tool but having some experience gained by using prior models eased the learning curve and within an hour I was modifying and saving sounds that are amazing. Five stars for this masterpiece of technology.

The Overdrive , Distortion and medium to high gain amp models are lack lustre. Theres a ton of unusable presets. The Output selector didn't work on the one I had, wouldn't connect USB - with the proper drivers-except to update, tone studio wouldn't find the device. Nothing about it comes close to tube sound as it is supposed to be. Then there is that processed envelope sound that boss cant seem to get away form. Too Bad. I really had High Hopes after seeing how badly line6 Helix and Headrush failed as well. Don't believe me, watch the Unbiased Tony Mackenzie review. He's not a stellar player but he has an ear for tone.

My background is as a player over 40 years a sound engineer and amp tech. What do I think of this after having owned many high end guitar processors? This thing is a giant leap forward in sound quality and fidelity for boss. The quality of the effects are extreamly good. I have owned many boss multi effects over the years. This blows them all away. The thing I love the most about this? It absolutely maintains the tone of your guitar. The overdrives and distortions delays reverbs and modulation effects are incredible. I would highly recommend this to anyone.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
