Relay G30 - Compact Bodypack Guitar Wireless System

The Relay G30 instrument wireless system is compact and lightweight, while at the same time its rugged polycarbonate shell makes it dependably roadworthy. Refreshingly easy to use, the Relay G30 offers reliable performance whether the receiver is placed on your amp top or mounted to your pedalboard. Exclusive VWT (Virtual Wire Transmission) technology ensures full-range frequency response, excellent transient response, and wide dynamic range - just like a high-quality guitar cable.

Superior Specs
Relay digital wireless systems produce full-range tones with 10Hz-20kHz frequency response, exceedingly low noise with up to 120dB dynamic range, and studio-quality resolution with 24-bit A/D conversion. (Comparably priced analog wireless systems offer 50Hz-15kHz frequency response and >90dB dynamic range. This wreaks havoc on your tone, especially if you use a high-gain amp.)

Cable Tone Simulation
Using a cable and a wireless system? Now you can switch back and forth without having to adjust the tone settings on your amplifier. Relay digital wireless systems feature a Cable Tone Simulator, which lets you match the sound of your Relay to the sound of your cable.

Compander-Free!
Companders squash your signal and ruin your tone. Analog wireless systems require companders but Relay wireless systems do not. Remaining compander-free enables Line 6 Relay system to deliver a beautiful high-end sparkle, thunderous low-end punch, and touch response that analog wireless systems simply cannot deliver.

The clip on the transmitter is cheap and doesn’t stay on your guitar strap. I found a leather pack holder that is secured onto your strap with Velcro or if you use a thin strap and be put through your strap. Since then I have no issues with the transmitter falling off. Signal wise I have never had issues. Works very well and helps keep the stage nice and clean.

The first time I tried to put this on my strap the clip broke off completely. It's cheap useless plastic. Also had issues with signal cutting out despite channel changing. I would stay away from this one.

It's a great wireless system that is very poorly constructed. Line 6 completely cheaped out using plastic casings for the transmitter. I've had mine for roughly 7 months, and last night at a gig, one of the tabs that secure the clip snapped off, causing the transmitter to drop and disconnect from the cord, and hit the floor, causing the battery door to break. Shame on Line 6 for putting out such a bad construction.

It took me a few weeks to buy this because I was worried it was one of those "to good to be true" sort of things. I was worried about tone loss, high latency, etc. I had tried an iRig product before and the latency was not in milli seconds. It must have been half a second. Horrible!
But not the Line 6 G30. I just got home with it and after a quick A/B with a patch cord, I can honestly state that my ears can not tell the difference in a cord or the G30. It truly is outstanding in my opinion. And zero latency. Sweet.
Many people online have had issues with the battery door or the clip breaking off. I can see the potential for issues there but I'm sure with a bit of care it should be fine for home use. Perhaps for very active gigging you may want something in a metal housing. This was the reason for my 4.5 quality rating. I feel Line 6 should have made this in metal and not cheap styrene plastic. At least the transmitter should be metal. The receiver is fine, safe on my pedalboard. But lets see.....
Bottom line? Its Great! I am happy I finally bought it. No more tripping on cables, accidentally unplugging, and so forth. It clips securely on my guitar strap with ease and stays in place.
I did replace the included patch cord to my guitar with a 90 degree cord. That works better with Les Pauls.
So far, no regrets. And a shout out to Brian in Mississauga! A fine salesperson.

I have zero issues with this unit. I take/handle it with care and keep it stored in a little gig bag that fits the retail foam packing that came with it. I use it for bass with an aggressive attack. It has never once cut out.

Purchased a G30 about 3 years ago, never had an issue. Never any signal loss or interference from anything. But right off the bat, I removed the metal clip and built myself a leather case to put on my bass strap. Works flawlessly to this day. Last time used was 2 days ago. I also use Duracell rechargeable batteries, don't know if that makes a difference, but there you have it! Great little unit, no regrets!

Its a great thing to have, sound is great, range is great, set up is easy and quick. But the battery door.......it will open if you play like Steve Clark. But if you put a rubber band around it, you will be just fine. It easily lasts me 4 hours on 2800MhA 17 year old rechargeable battaries

I've zero issues. Sounds great compared to my old system. I have my cell in my back pocket vibrating and there are no problems. The range is fine for what you are buying and i've never had a drop out...knock on wood. I bought an extra transmitter for other bass and just switch the channel. A nice fast switch of instruments. I would recommend this for the porice

For the price you're getting great value. I've noticed a slight difference in when it's plugged in and when I go through the wireless, but very minimal. The belt clip didn't last long but I use a strap case anyway. But for the price, for sure worth it.

I bought the G30 a couple years ago for my guitar. Recently I have been playing more violin and thought I would give it a try. It matches nicely with the Fishman pickup and sounds great. the transmitter sits neatly between the shoulder rest and the iolin body and I put the receiver ahead of my volume pedal.... A good match. I might need to get a second one

This is a great wireless system for the money. I have been using it for almost a year now and gigged with it probably 30 times and never had a dropout. Tone is great as well. I replaced the guitar cable with a higher quality just for piece of mind. The only bad thing about this wireless is the battery indicator light. its either blue for charged or red when its dead. it really doesn't give you much warning beforehand. But as long as you use quality batteries and replace it with fresh ones before each show all is good.

I bought the Line 6 Relay G50 and within minutes of getting home I was up and running. The GT50 gives you the freedom of wireless with the sound quality of a high end cable. I have tried it with my Stratocaster and my Roland HPD 15 electronic drum and the frequency response is great on both instruments. I have connected it to both of my amps, my Macbook Pro and my iPad with excellent results. If you are looking to free yourself from the constraints of cables this is the ticket. I would highly recommend this product to any musician.

I bought it about 4 or 5 months ago. Very simple to use...plug it in and match the channels. Does not alter the tone. It has some type of cable tone simulation but I just use the straight unfiltered sound. Two AA batteries give you about 10hrs of use. The battery door seems a little flimsy and requires some care when closing and locking. The cable is not the greatest but does its job with straight molded jacks. I have since replaced it with a good quality cable with a straight and right angle switchcraft jack for use with my Teles and ES335 guitars

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
