Played on countless hit recordings, the mid-'60s Deluxe Reverb is a timeless Fender classic and one of the most indispensable workhorse guitar amps ever made. Moderately powered and producing a full, snappy and crystalline tone, the pedal-friendly '64 Custom Deluxe Reverb carries on that legacy with incredible vintage-style tones, thanks to its modified all-tube hand-wired AB763 circuitry.

Featuring Bright and Normal channels, tube-driven spring reverb and tremolo on both channels, and 20 watts of output power, this is the go-to amp for warm, clean tones and moderate breakup. The cabinet that holds the 12" Jensen C-12Q speaker is crafted from solid pine for improved resonance and lighter weight, and features an extra-heavy textured vinyl covering and lightlyaged silver grille cloth for a picture-perfect vintage look.

Its versatility and durability make the '64 Custom Deluxe Reverb the amp you'll want to take with you everywhere you go, even if you wind up stranded on a desert island.

This is a beautiful amp. I run it in stereo with another Deluxe Reverb, Tone Master version. They sound similar enough when using pedals. Boss DD-200 stereo out into Normal Channels of both amps. With a Boss LS-2 Line Selector, I can run one or the other or both with different effect chains. The Line Selector really shows off the difference between the amps in A or B mode. And shows how great they sound together in A + B mode. The output tube bias tremolo sounds rich and deep and musical better than opto versions. The reverb seems to kick in around 3 on the dial. Getting to know the idiosyncrasies of this amp and the Tone Master. I like comparing how good of a job Fender did on modelling the real tube Deluxe Reverb. Not going to use this amp for gigs. Just practice at home and recording. I can bring the Tone Master to gigs and not worry about tubes. Also the Tone Master is half the weight. Spending more time practicing with both Deluxe Reverb amps. Fender makes a MTG:LA tube distortion pre-amp pedal with a U.S.-made NOS 6205 preamp tube. I use that for the high gain sounds. The Deluxe Reverbs take pedals so well and the Fender clean sounds better than any other amp. I basically use two sounds, clean and high gain. Both sounds are spectacular coming out of a Fender Deluxe Reverb amp. Play for hours. I really like that double 6V6 power tube sound. Up to 5 it's clean, after that, a whole world of harmonically rich overdrive. Play all day. Play all night.

The Fender '64 Custom Deluxe Reverb amp is beautiful, sounds great. Hand wired all tube design, the way they made amps in 1964. The sound is spectacular with reverb and output tube biased tremolo. You will want to start using tremolo again as an effect after you play this amp. You get reverb and tremolo in both channels. I put mine on an amp stand so I can be close to the speaker and dial in the sounds easier. I am using a Boss LS-2 Line Selector so I can select another Deluxe and run them in stereo for breath-taking sonic-scapes. Because the Deluxe has two channels I can run Deluxe A OR Deluxe B or I can run Deluxe A AND Deluxe B with the Line Selector. I got a Mesa 90 watt 1x12 cab for the times when I want to run the Deluxe on "10" with pedals. I unplug the stock speaker and plug in the Mesa cab. Because Deluxe amps are so good at taking pedals I run a Fender MTG:LA distortion pedal into the amp. The MTG:LA has a U.S.-made NOS 6205 pre-amp tube for getting real tube distortion. Combining that with the amp and cab, I will get more spectacular sounds. This amp is expensive but it is something from another era that is precious and beautiful. Wanted to get one before the whole world went digital and the art and science of this masterpiece was to end up like ancient Rome, a footnote in a textbook or computer screen. I feel sorry for people who listen to music or their guitars through headphones. They don't know what they are missing.

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
