Years of playing harmonica for solo acoustic shows, I never thought I'd ever find a substitute for the "Special .20" after the ridiculous price change. Thank, Suzuki for the Harpmaster - the perfect replacement! Suzuki makes them pretty air-tight, but don't panic. They just need a little breaking in after purchase. After that you'll find them perfectly smooth and responsive, with a tone that is indistinguishable from it's $100 counter-part.

This is a great playing Harp. I can feel the reeds bend as I play and feel like I turned into a better player. I was using the Pedmont Blues plastic set before and there is absolutely no comparison.

For 30 years I have used Hohner Special 20's playing live. But prices have gone beyond reality, especially for someone just starting, or a casual player. Only an experienced player would notice the difference between the Hohner harps and the Suzuki harps. Unless you are Little Walter or Magic Dick, the Suzuki harps will do just fine, at less than half the price. I like the Harp Masters better, Blues Masters have an odd cover.

Mere days ago, I bought the Harpmaster in C, & it's probably one of my favorite ever purchases. I had been reading up on harps for about a month, & this was the one I settled on. It sounds amazing! With a very airtight design. At the second I took it out of the box, I was marveling how beautiful it looks, no frills, traditional look. After reading a few tabs, I can already play some serious tunes like "Blowin In The Wind" & "Like a Rolling Stone". & some Springsteen & whatnot. I had issues with a couple draws, but I just straightened out my technique & it's all good. Five days of playing, & I can play famous licks, bends & tremolo. Although I am new to the harp, I know tone, & this has it. From the rust belt anthems of Springsteen, to the howls & bends of Dylan & Little Walter, this has it all. Next chance I get, I'm going to go get a few more in G & D.
