Electro-Harmonix unveils the new Cock Fight Plus which offers up the award-winning tone of the original Cock Fight in a rugged, lightweight pedal and with a traditional rack and pinion style operating mechanism. The pedal features two distinct wah sounds as well as a switchable and adjustable fuzz tone.

The Wah toggle switch selects between the classic wah tones of the Crying Tone and the dual formant filter of the Talking Pedal, which creates vowel-like sounds. The Bottom control blends back in clean bass frequencies to beef up the low-end and make the wah sound more bass-friendly. The Volume control sets the master output level.

The Fuzz section features a three position toggle switch for Off, Pre-wah, and Post-wah settings. The Drive and Tone controls set the amount and overall brightness of the fuzz respectively. Bias controls the amount of bias voltage supplied to one of the transistors in the fuzz circuit and can create a full, saturated tone or a sputtering, gated fuzz sound.

The Cock Fight Plus comes equipped with a 9V battery or can be powered by an optional 9-volt AC adapter.

Quick Specs

- Dimensions in inches: 9.92 (l) x 3.4 (w) x 3.0 (h)

Can get some pretty cool tones out of this and really awesome you can switch the fuzz from being before or after the wah. It is made of plastic (“space-age polymer”) but feels solid enough. Definitely saves on weight. I find the wah itself doesn’t have a very wide sweep. It is very sensitive in one little spot, this is my first wah maybe they are all like that I dunno 🤷🏻‍♂️ and the biggest issue is the pedal falls down (doesn’t lock in place) when you take your foot off of it once you find your sweet spot (not sure if something needs to be tightened in the unit itself or something) which makes it hard to do a “cocked wah” thing which is the whole point of the pedal. If I had to buy it again I’d get the regular cockfight pedal version instead and an expression pedal

I like it in general but the talking effect sweep is wrong! Needs fixing in v2. And how about fuzz only? Please? 0 of 0 customers found this review helpful

A useful wah and fuzz-wah and very good value for money considering all the possible sounds and variations. Fuzz works fine, although it's not as fierce as a Fuzz Face or Tone Bender - which is fair enough, since EHX are the Big Muff people. The switch that routes the fuzz "before or after" is very useful. All the knobs make meaningful adjustments, which is great - they are all well calibrated. Wah is good - cleaner treble end than my previous cheap, slightly distorting Daphon wah, it sounds quite like the classic Cry Baby we all love. One major problem with the functionality: the sweep of the pedal is not calibrated correctly for the talking effect - it has a very small effective window of usefulness about 2/3 of the way forward. Perhaps this is what you get when the 2 effects share only 1 pot? In which case I would much rather have paid more for them to each have their own pot. A big hint to EHX which I am sure I am not alone in: I would really like it to be possible to have the fuzz on and the wah/talk off! It sounds like it would be a nice fuzz -especially with the "starved battery" option - but it's tantalising because you can't try it out without the wah/talk and find out.

All but gave up on finding a wah I liked. Saw this one and watched some videos on its "TALK" setting. I said, "That's the sound I'm looking for." EXPRESSIVE. Helps to understand what the guitar is saying. Now if they could just make one for my cat and the girl next door.

I was really hesitant in buying this pedal as a lot of reviews seemed rather mixed. The pedal does indeed feel a little of the cheap side as it's not made of metal but rather what EHX calls a polymer (its plastic). But the sounds it produces are quite something. It does sound different than a crybaby, but in a good way. Switching between a Cry and talk sound is pretty sweet and the built in fuzz is killer! The only thing is when the fuzz is engaged the wah does lose a bit of volume. Overall though a solid addition to a pedal board!

Performance Warranty Banner

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
