I gig full time, and this guitar has been a fantastic work horse. It sounds incredible, feels great and looks gorgeous. It's no coincidence that I see so many other working musicians playing this guitar these days. It's just a great guitar at this price point. The ES2 system has its critics, personally I love it, and I've sent DI recordings to studio engineers who can't believe it's not a mic'd guitar. And it sounds great mic'd too! Can't recommend enough for the busy gigging player who records as well. Just a great guitar.

All the beautiful sounds you’d expect from Taylor in a drop dead gorgeous package. Wonderfully clean tones with every string perfectly articulated. The price is no joke, but this is a world class instrument.

Bought this beautiful Koa guitar a couple weeks ago. Totally impressed with sound, playability and of course appearance. I own a Gibson, a Martin, and always wanted a Taylor. Played a couple of high-end Taylor guitars of friends but could not decide until I saw this beauty on the wall. Played acoustic and sound was awesome. Plugged it in and one word “wow”! The electronics bring out the beautiful sound. I have also owned a couple of Takamines but are no comparison. Highly recommended. Player for over 50 years.

I've owned this guitar about 4 years now, and it has held up extremely well, using it on recordings. It is aging nicely and it's a stunner. Don't be fooled by the laminated back / sides, the sound that is produced by this model is hard to come by at this price range. I tried multiple others when shopping and some were thousands more expensive, and the one I got spoke to me above all the others. It's comfortable, stunning, and sounds exceptional. Try one for yourself!

Of all the guitars in the store - some much more expensive, some much less, I fell in love with the look, feel and sound of this one. I was looking for one quality guitar that I could keep for a lifetime and this was it. Everyone who sees and hears her, loves her. Definitely zero buyers remorse here. She was worth every penny!

Three weeks in with my 224ce-K DLX and I love it more and more every time I pick it up. It was a toss up between this, a GS Mini-e Koa Plus (Which I still may buy) and the 324ce. The sheer beauty and rich sound with its ease of playability, easily nudged the GS Mini out of the race when I played them back to back at the Bedford, NS location. As far as the 324ce, it's amazing in its own right, but I couldn't justify the additional cost for the fancier appointments and solid back and sides. The case the 224ce-K DLX comes in is sturdy and beautiful and I get just as many compliments on the case, as I do the guitar. I'm all in and fully in love with this guitar and it's solidified my choice to purchase premium instruments over something cheaper. If you're interested in this guitar, don't hesitate...go buy one right this moment.

Beautiful warm acoustic tone, stunning looks, very playable, and excellent quality. I'd been looking of and on a long time for an acoustic/ Electric, at brands like Gibson J45, Martin D18/ D28, but not bought because they didn't" speak" to me.(and the $3500-$5000 price tag). I gad not seriously considered a,Taylor as,I had found then too "bright" for my taste. This was complete surprise, when Meno at my local store brought this out at the end of a Clearance sale, slightly used. Perfect condition, and half price... 5 mins of playing and I was Sold. Try one. You'll love it

I got this for playing live as the Taylor electronics sound absolutely fantastic when plugged in. Really durable finish as well that holds up on the road. I have a number of hand built guitars (i.e., much more expensive) and was looking for something that would be a great workhorse live guitar that also looks awesome and that I wouldn't worry about. Found mine at L&M Waterloo and immediately fell head over heels. I tried similarly priced models from Martin and Gibson that didn't even come close. Even other more expensive Taylors.
I've had it about 3 years now and it has been excellent! Have had MANY folks in the audience and a lot of sound engineers and other musicians remark on how great it sounds plugged in. Don't love the battery compartment as you have to remove the strap to get to it and the battery can be hard to remove. It feels like the battery holder could break. Also, the laminate back and sides make it sound a bit boxy acoustically compared to some of my other guitars, but at a fraction of the cost it is a brilliant all rounder that looks amazing and sounds great plugged in. I would heartily recommend!

I stqrted playing guitar a couple of years ago beginning on a beginner acoustic model. It served its purpose for starting to play and the time was ready to upgrade. Having researched Taylor models available in my budget, and having read the reviews of the Taylor 224 ce KOA, I decided to visit L and M in Kanata yesterday. It was going to be between the 214ce and the 224. For me the 224 won hands down.. the look is fantastic and the tone is what I desired.. The best early Christmas gift for myself. Thank you to the young lady sales staff at Kanata L and M for your service and recommendations. A quick Sale.... SOLD!

O M G! This is such a discovery. After years of using a box with a fret board I was blessed to experience this Taylor Grand Auditorium all-Koa beauty. The deep richness of the bass blends seamlessly with the clear ring of the higher notes. I am so captivated by the sound that I play much much more than I ever have. My other guitars have been passed on. The staff at Long and McQuade were wonderful. They did not push to sell but instead offered a comfortable friendly place to play and experience this guitar. I recall vividly the first time I saw it. It was fresh out of a box, the case was opened revealing the lush burgundy lining and the stunning wood tone of the Koa. All that plus the distinctive sound quality, and I was sold. If you are thinking of buying a new guitar you must see and hear this one. It is excellent value for a mid range cost.

These are shockingly beautiful guitars. They each can look quite different compared to the picture on the website. When you get it under the light, the rich brown grains really shine! I took pictures of it in direct sunlight when I first got it and they are amazing. Mine has gold hardware which looks a little better than the chrome in my opinion. I've owned a Taylor 114ce for a few years and was looking to upgrade to possibly a 314ce. Both of those guitars look almost identical to each other and friends and family would most likely never notice that I upgraded my guitar. This guitar is truly a head-turner. The sound is also very different. Koa definitely has a unique sound. It is very warm and deep and has a very long sustain. Taylor 100 series are known to be bright sounding, but compared to this one, they sound thin to me now. I own 5 other guitars and have not touched any of them since purchasing this one two months ago. The playability is superior to any of them and the sound of it still hasn’t got old to me. I’ve been playing for 28 years and simply playing a loud open E chord brings a smile to my face. This guitar will definitely be a keeper!

By far the best acoustic guitar i have ever owned. It sounds incredible, am truly amazed everytime I pick it up after not touching it a few days! I've owned this guitar about a year and it will definitely be a guitar that i keep forever. Side noteThe staff at the Pickering L&M are always super helpful and knowledgeable without being pushy at all, they care more about you being happy with your purchase then just making a sale.

I bought mine last year and so happy with it. This is my second Taylor (I have a GS Mini too) and the build quality is excellent! I notice that the latest ones have chrome hardware whereas mine has the gold, which I personally think looks much better against the Koa wood. Feels and plays really great and looks absolutely stunning.

I was in the market for a higher end guitar for my 40th birthday. I sat in store and without looking at price tags, picked up several higher end guitars and noodled around with them. I saw this incredible beauty, and as soon as I strummed a cord, I fell in Love. What a great sounding guitar, warm sound that projects the base notes so well. Very well rounded for finger picking and strumming. This is my new fave by alot. If you buy this, you will not be disappointed!!!! Also, financing so easy, helped me walk out in 20 min with it in hand!

I bought this guitar 8 months ago, my first “serious” guitar. What a difference it makes to have a beautiful sounding guitar. I can’t leave it alone. It has a very forgiving action so it’s easier to play than my previous guitars and because it sounds so good, you just want to playtime. Can’t reommend it highly enough.

I was looking for awhile for a "decent" guitar that didn't break the bank. I read multiple reviews online and heard that this was one to put on my radar. I went to Long and Mcquade in Langley to try it and I was not disappointed. I tried $4000 guitars beside it and it hands down won for me against these higher priced Legends. The sound is so full and the look of the KOA is both masculine and beautiful. The only downside is that because of the KOA grain, there are many looks and I actually had to go to 3 stores to find the grain pattern that called to me. Everybody that sees and hears it, love it!

I went to Long & McQuade to try another guitar. I played this one while I waited for them to find the one I came to try. I tried that one for a minute and then picked this one back up. I was hooked on the warm sound. Highs are very musical but not too bright. Low and mid range are incredible. Have played it for two days straight and cannot put it down. For me it is very comfortable to play. The sound is like nothing I have played. The quality of the guitar seems to be very good. Have only had this a short time but love it so far. I believe things happen for a reason. I got this in my hands and that was it. Thanks to the North Bay store, Robin and the crew.

Just picked this up today. I'm still stunned. After reading some very positive reviews of both this guitar, & Taylor's Koa GS Mini, and noticing that our local store had both in stock, I had to drop by to check them out for myself. I wasn't planning to buy either one, I just wanted to see what the fuss was about. I have to start by saying the stock pictures do NOT do the Taylor 224ce-K Deluxe justice. But frankly, I doubt a picture could; this guitar is just that beautiful. Its simply the most beautiful acoustic guitar I've ever seen. But once I heard it, I was head over heels, and couldn't leave the store without it; I tried but it pulled me back in minutes later. So be warned... if you like Taylor guitars, and the rich look & sound of Hawaiian Koa wood... resistance is futile. It's well worth the price, but if you find the price a bit out of range, this guitar will have you thinking about taking on a second job.

Went to the North Edmonton store yesterday to take a look at the 214 series as it was in my price range. The clerk pulled out this guitar when I suggested a little more bling. It was a bit over my budget, but I knew I would regret not spending the extra 300 after spending a half hour between the two guitars.. Thanks for the 0% financing ). No regrets, smooth as butter, nice action to move up and down the neck and that Koa finish is awesome. Even my wife said beautiful. My Martin (which is no slouch either) is going to sit for a few days........Great guitar, great experience.

I've owned this guitar for about 6 months now....all I can say is that it gets played A LOT in my home. Neck action is typical Taylor, very smooth. This things sings so beautifully with new strings on it. I've gigged with it about 6 times now... and it gets noticed by some audiences that play guitar. I get compliments on it's look and sound. The only minor gripe I have is the cables inside the the pickup system...they rattle against the body and it gets pretty loud when I'm playing it unplugged, but don't really hear it when I'm plugged in to the PA. It's minor and can be fixed easily so I still would definitely recommend this guitar.

I bought this one because I played it and within a second fell in love with the great action and sound. The fact is the sound rivals my son's one year old 5500 dollar Taylor 600 series. I love the wood and the fact that these are not so common when I am out playing around other performers. I also feel the simplicity of the look and the tone wood offer something special. Deluxe means the better pickup that Taylor is known for. I have waited a long time to take the leap into this Taylor brand and am happy that I did.

Protect your investment with the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty

A warranty can be a very important factor when making a buying decision. Because repairs can be very expensive in terms of parts and labour costs, manufacturers usually only provide one year limited warranties that generally only cover items that malfunction due to a manufacturer’s defect. With an important purchase such as a musical
instrument or piece of studio gear, however, many people want to have the peace of mind in knowing that their investment will be protected should the product no longer be performing at 100%.

Because of this, Long & McQuade provides our customers with a FREE one-year Performance Warranty on most of our products. The Long & McQuade Performance Warranty supplements the manufacturer’s warranty to ensure that our customers receive complete “no hassle” warranty coverage within their first year.

How does the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty differ from most manufacturers' warranties?
  • Performance Guarantee: Normal wear and tear is covered, so your product will be performing as well as the day you purchased it for the entire duration of the coverage. Band and Orchestral Performance Warranty does not include replacing pads or cleaning for woodwind instruments, unless deemed necessary by our repair staff. Ultrasonic cleaning for brass instruments will be provided if deemed necessary by our repair staff, but is not routinely offered under the Performance Warranty.
  • Product Replacement: If your product cannot be fixed or costs too much to fix, we will replace it with the equivalent model for no additional charge. If this is not possible, a full refund will be provided.
  • No Lemon Policy: Your product will be replaced should the same problem occur multiple times.
  • Convenient: Easy drop off and pick up of the product at any Long & McQuade location.
  • Guitar Setup: Guitars purchased at Long & McQuade come with 1 free setup, to be redeemed within 1 year for new guitars and 90 days for used guitars.
  • Loaners Available: A loaner product may be given while the product is being repaired.
  • Power Surge Protection: Your product is covered even if damaged from a power surge.
  • Accessory Coverage: Any peripheral devices or accessories that come with your product (i.e. foot pedal, case) are also covered.
  • Commercial Use Coverage: Music and recording professionals who purchase gear for “heavy-use” commercial purposes will still be covered.

Long & McQuade reserves the right to restrict the purchase of additional years of Performance Warranty. Used products come with a 3-month Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Some products (i.e. computers, software, cymbals and other items) are covered only by the manufacturer‘s warranty. Consumables (i.e. strings, reeds, drum sticks, batteries, tubes, cross faders) are excluded as they are designed to be replaced. Cosmetic Damage, Accidental Damage, or problems caused by Humidity or Temperature Issues are not covered. Speakers damaged by overpowering are generally not covered. Our coverage does not provide compensation for loss of use. As of June 2018 the Performance Warranty is no longer transferable. The warranty is only valid in Canada.

Purchasing additional years of coverage

Some manufacturers provide warranties for longer than 1 year; however, these are usually limited warranties that do not provide the same coverage as the Long & McQuade Performance Warranty. Customers interested in more complete and convenient (but not necessarily longer) coverage are still able to purchase additional years of the Performance Warranty.

If you are interested in receiving this coverage for longer than one year, you have the option of purchasing additional years of the Performance Warranty. The pricing is as follows:

  • NEW products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • USED products: Starting at 4% of the current new selling price to increase the warranty from 3 months to 1 year. Starting at 4% for each additional year.
  • GUITARS: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year. $45 maximum. An additional free setup is not included with additional purchased years of Performance Warranty.
  • BAND and ORCHESTRAL instruments: 4% of the current new selling price to double the warranty from 1 year to 2 years. 4% for each additional year.
